Actually Tucker attacked both the elder and younger McKinneys in multiple columns over the past several years. Cynthia Tucker is one of the most schizophrenic columnists in the country - just watch: when you think you've got her pegged as the consumate hand-wringing, bed-wetting, knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing liberal, she'll pen something that you think came directly from some of the best posts on FR.

this whole deal chaps my ass. nothing I can do about it, though. nothing Lott can do about it now, after missing his one and only opportunity to end the matter solidly by issuing a simple explanation, mild apology for ruffling the feathers of those who desperately desire to be offended, and then telling the persistent attackers to go to hell.
