BOTTOM LINING IT: The Reason Liberals Get Away With The Things We Don't
12/23/02 | Maryellen Davies

Old Bob Packwood was a groper. Nobody denies he made unwanted sexual advances on the young women on his staff. The man was crucified in the press thanks to a relentless firestorm from the NOW gang.

Bill Clinton was far more than just a groper and wasn't so much as blinked at.

Trent Lott made some regrettable remarks that, when you twist them and apply your own meaning to them (stooping to feigning psychic ability to "know what he was thinking when he said them"), seem quite offensive to the NAACP.

Jesse Jackson & Robert Byrd are legendary for saying "normally" regrettable things and getting a pass on them.

Why is this?

Perhaps, the reason can be attributed to the massing of voices to be outraged equally against such gaffes on both sides. You see, WE don't have the organized groups to bring a firestorm against the evils the Clintons and the DNC put forth. It isn't like they aren't putting them on a batting tee for us to take a hack at either.

No, our problem with it is that if we DO ORGANIZE to voice our outrage like the Dummycrap constituents do, WE'LL be crucified in the media for being racist, sexist, homophobe, etc. by those groups organizations.

You see, to be outraged IN OPPOSITION to those politicians that these groups (NOW, NAACP, QUEER NATION, etc...) support means that WE are the scum of the earth. You know...NAZI's, KKK, etc...

Until we find the way to rise, voices united in outrage against EQUALLY OFFENSIVE gaffes by Dummycraps, we're going to be out-shouted by people who have made lying, spinning, and twisting of polling data a filthy artform to get their way.

We're working on it. Seen this?

Now that's the sort of thing that the liberal media spikes in its role as the Guardian of the Democratic Party. But... they can't control what gets out anymore. Ten years ago, even five years ago, they could. I don't think they can today, and we're going to find out.

Right now this looks to be a piece confined to the readership of Newsmax, and now Free Republic. I have a hunch that Certain Other Outlets will be picking it up shortly. By the end of Monday, 15 to 20 million people might know about Mr. Clinton's qualifications to talk about how "Republicans" intimidate black voters.

No question, the Usual Suspects will pretend that this story does not exist. There will not be a breath of it in the New York Times, or on CBS, NBC, ABC, or CNN. But by this time next week, everybody's gonna know. It won't look like a media firestorm, because "the media" will be totally silent about it. But it won't matter; everybody's gonna know that Clinton was sued for intimidating black voters, that he tried to substitute a white candidate for a black one and was overruled by the Supreme Court, and that our media will lie and cover for the sumbitch.

This is why Fox News keeps picking up viewers. Every week, people find out about more stuff that the media lies about to protect their buddies in The Party. And everybody's sick of it.

Thank you. Tis a pleasure to meet you.

This is true. They complain that most of Talk Radio is Right Wing. Well, we don't have the organizations like they do, CBC, NAACP, NOW, Most of the institutions of higher learning, and a good portion of the media and Hollywood. Ordinary Americans are attraced to conservative Talk Radio not so they can be told what to think, but rather to validate what they already believe.

Great point...I've often said that I dont believe the things Rush Limbaugh says...HE SAYS the things I believe!"

Maybe we should count the voices & beacons on their side so we can "Put it in their face" in 2004, along with examples of every instance where they lied BIG TIME during the Clinton years.

Asking him about his "Black Ninja" plans during one of his $100,000 speaking engagements glorifying his "Military Prowess" (when a FOX camera is handy) would be kewl too!

Nick, I don't think the politicians- or even most of the public- has "woken up" to the revolution in information that has occurred, and is occurring even as we speak.

A combination of the web and talk radio has bypassed the corrupt, celebrity-worshipping mainstream, and they didn't even notice until it had passed them by.

It's a great time to be alive, and be a political activist.

I have been thinking that we should form some kind of group to go to Congress and demonstrate when they have judicial hearings. A counterpoint for the people for the American Way.

You hit the nail on the head, my friend.

It is "the combination of the Internet and talk radio" that has created a (sometimes) honest and clear alternative to the lamestream media. And the number of people using this alternative medium is steadily increasing.

To that pair you should add cable TV. More and more of the capable hosts on cable TV are also using the Internet both as a source of information and a means of interactive communication with their audiences. And as of two weeks ago, cable TV passed the click-over point; more people now use it as their main source of news than use broadcast stations for that purpose.

What we are experiencing is a revolution in the availablity of information to the people. It will be broader, deeper, and ultimately more influential than the invention of moveable type for the printing press by Gutenberg. His revolution made the Bible and books generally available to the people. This one makes the entire universe of knowledge available to the people.

It is the smae process, but more universal. Remember that East Germany fell without a shot fired, because of information. About 40% of the East Germans were able to see West German TV. Every autocratic nation on Earth will eventually fall before this same onslaught.

Joe, these are only good points because these liberal groups are SHAMING US for being Americans & opposing their opinions. There isn't anything shameful about being opposed to sin and corruption!

What they are doing is what the entire Clinton Administration was based upon...CONTROLLING THE DICTIONARY, and we're letting the bastards do it! If opposition to homosexuality, for example, makes you a Nazi (which it doesn't), then you've been shamed.

Julia Roberts insulted us, saying Republican is between Reptile & Repugnant in the dictionary, and that she "checked, and found the definition of Democrat says it is of, by and for the people," (It DOESN'T say any such a thing), we have a serious credibility gap here.

We MUST take back the dictionary from the likes of these lying S.O.B.'s and stop allowing them to define everything to THEIR specifics or we'll be putting slave collars on everyone on our side and allowing Hitlary to waltz right into the White House!

I recall that well- authoritarian regimes do fear the free flow of information. Early PC's and copy machines contributed as well- too many secrets were revealed for the lies to stand. Merry Christmas, John A.

The problem is the editorialized press. Nothing is ever reported without someone's wonderful personal insight (GAG me!). We are not be shamed, we are being propagandized.

We have been socialized to the point we listen to morons like Julia Roberts. Not because we identify with her ideals, but because we identify with her position in life, (rich & famous for no reason at all) whatever a "Julia Roberts" says is going to sell papers and increase viewership as she appeals to the "5" minute focus crowd. (Those that have a 5 min attention span). The fact that she is an airhead socialist is mute to our socio-lib news reporters.

Our conservative msg did get through despite the press not because of it this last election. This is what brought the likes of Dashole & every other proponent of socialism to scream about conservative talk radio again in the last few weeks. The fact that failed demonRats had no agenda except "More of the Same" didn't quite hold viewers at the edge of their seats.

When the press becomes politically neutral, socialism and a free ride on the racism issue will again fall from grace.

Until then, conservatism is a back burner issue and the only outlet for information is not strong enough to create a stir the likes of which just burned Trent Lott.

The schooling for journalists is in no better shape as any college bound conservative has more barriers to break through then a diamond miner. And their outlook for employment is minimal so the short term future does not hold many happy surprises as far as the press coming around. :-(

The left is able to do what it does because to the left, politics is life. We conservatives don't think that way: other things are more important to us. We don't want to sacrifice our lives for something as soulless as politics. And, for that reason, they'll always seem to win.

But they'll have sold their souls to "win," and in the end they'll have gained nothing.

We, OTOH, need merely to do what is right. We may not always win, but our souls will be intact, and we'll never have to find ourselves defending atrocities.

Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. (1 Peter 2:11-12)

"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will recognize them by their fruits. (Matt. 7:15-20)

I heard someone's idea for getting a more conservative media (outside of radio) going. It sounded feasible. Here's the plan. Get a group of conservatives with money together . My friend's idea was the NRA.

His idea was to buy or start small local weekly throw away papers. The type that appear on your lawn. Get some syndicated national columns and add a few local news stories, pesented through a conservative prism. As one becomes profitable, buy another.

Also start buying old movie theaters. Run second run movies at a discount, then start running conservative independent movies. Get a network of a couple hundred going and it would give independent conservative directors a ready made market. This would make Hollywood's influence less important.

Start cable t.v. stations. Not just news, but entertainment, too. Imagine if the Clinton Chronicles were on T.V. before the 1996 elections. Anyway I don't know how feasible this would be, but it does seem possible. Also, take a plan out of Strom Thurmond's or Jesse Helms' playbook from the '60's. WHichever one it was had threatened to have churches buy the broadcast network's stock because of their bias. (This would be more difficult now that there are so many shares).
