La Cucuracha...pass the RAID!
The Sierra Times - The War Room ^ | Dec. 21, 2002 | Henrietta Bowman

Posted on 12/23/2002 11:55:16 AM PST by madfly

I created the Sierra Times War Room message board at the request of J.J. Johnson one day after 9-11. In that time, I have only made one post that was posted in both the War Room and the Sagebrush Saloon, preferring to keep the two message boards separate as much as possible.

So, when I make that exception to my own rule, you can bet it is for a darned good reason! Yesterday, I read an article listed here from the L.A. Times entitled "Halt to Ariz. Citizen Border Patrols Urged" and there was something in it that literally made me see red and, as usual, to start checking out the money trail.

The comment was this: "It's not their job to defend, to harass people, stalk people, injure people. That's nobody's job," said Jennifer Allen, co-director of the Tucson-based Border Action Network. "They (illegal immigrants) have civil rights and human rights that take precedence over defending the country."

Today, I read a second article from the Tucson Citizen. This is the quote that set me off a second time: "If you shine the light on the cockroaches, they don't like it," Rep.-elect Raúl Grijalva says at a press conference yesterday in calling for an investigation of citizen patrols, which he says are racist.

Grijalva said this at a press conference hosted by Coalicion de Derechos Humanos, a group that advocates for illegal immigrants. Both groups were referring to the civilian militia groups springing up on the border that are dedicated to doing what the Feds refuse to do -- defend our borders against illegal aliens and terrorists.

While Border Action Network gets a major portion of its funding from the Norman Foundation, dedicated in its own words to countering right-wingers, the common denominator for both BAN and Coalicion de Derechos Humanos is Resist, Inc. and a raunchier group of Democratic Socialists would be darned hard to find!

Noam Chomsky and Benjamin Spock were founders of Resist, Inc. Check out their leadership and history listed on their site linked below. Radical is not the name for these folks. From tinkerbelles to Che Gueverra and SDS, these folks show the raised red fist. Oh, and a third funder is the ubiquitous Ben and Jerry's.

Border Action Network is the new name, minus the commie logo, of  Southwest Alliance to Resist Militarization (aka SWARM), but I guess that was just a tad militaristic sounding for these folks. I have done my civic duty and included their email addy for those of you wishing to sound off.

PLEASE
feel free to repost this.

Rep.-elect Raúl Grijalva,
I have put the Klieg lights on the REAL cockroaches...somebody hand me a can of RAID!

So whether they are getting enough funds to reserve a table at the Ritz or just barely enough for a Denny's combo, it's who they are dining with, or should I say in bed with, that should make one concerned.

I agree it is a matter for some concern. However, the Pew Charitable Trusts, CBSs, Saban Entertainments, NBCs, AFSCMEs, ABCs, CNNs, unions, etc. dole out a heck of a lot more money to groups like these than this "Resist Inc." outfit apparently does. Should we expend our time, talent, and treasure squashing a bug crawling across the floor while forgetting about the pack of wild bears stalking us?

Lol, we have to be careful when using the word "Coyote" on these threads

That was a mean-spirited comparison I made, and I'm sorry that I did it. Sarcasm is a poor tool for persuasion, and persuasion is something I try to do as best I can.

Here is the logo of S.W.A.R.M. which is now known as B.A.N. (Border Action Network):

Here are pictures from a march held by Coalicion de Derechos Humanos in which SWARM/BAN participated. This march was held in Nogales, Sonora (what they called Nogales, Aztlan) on October 12th, 2002. Notice the red flags, the armed Aztlan warrior banner, and the banner bearing the image of a Mexican woman breaking the chains on her wrists with the body of a dead white woman behind her.

You decide what you think these groups are up to, who their sponsors are, and what their politics are. As for me, I know they are the enemy.

.
Led by Pima County public defender, Isabel Garcia, Derechos Humanos clearly demonstrates that it is advancing Mexico's goal of the "Conquest of Aztlan."

Same to you - hope your Christmas is warm, safe, and enjoyable.

I'm playing the weird uncle they talk about behind their hands who's going to be on the road visiting folk this year. Should put about 600 new miles on the strelamobile by Thursday. I was too lazy to put up my own tree so I get to enjoy everybody else's.

Anybody want 6 bottles of Old Spice?

Interesting that Isabel Garcia isn't in Mexico working for the rights of the people there in that country ---so they wouldn't have to leave. I doubt very much that she cares about their rights in their own country.

So stop reading them. And stop annoying us!

It is embarrassing to read you fussing at adults, freely excercising their right to associate.

Thanks for the sentiments. I'm home again and work starts in a few hours. Had a great time - kid loved the motorcycle. His mom is mad at me because I didn't include the prybar they're going to need to get him off the thing ;)
