You must have missed the qualifying "If those...." statement, I'll forgive you for the rest.

"You are getting delusional."

Sorry, but I disagree. You made an inane statement in #124 and then expected us to be able to disprove it. I merely carried your inanity to it's logical (illogical?) conclusion. I can no more disprove your assertion than you can disprove my extrapolation of it. If you truly believe that the Democrat and Republican Parties are two sides of the same coin, that they are the Twiddle-Dee and Twiddle-Dum of American politics, then I would encourage you to vote for the Green or Libertarian or "Standing in the Back Looking Silly" Parties ... or, better yet, don't vote at all and then just whine about the results.

I'm not surprised that you are unwilling to take a realistic view of what is happening to our country. Some people just weren't designed to be anything but followers.

I beg to differ on pretty much everything you say here.

"Everything is a conspiracy to you guys" - you

"Washington is run by the ruling class elite and one of their main jobs is to keep the serfs controlled. Washington will always answer to Wall Street before main street." - you earlier. SOUNDS LIKE A CONSPIRACY TO ME!

"If you believe in the dictates and propaganda fed to you by a single political party and are will to turn your freedoms over to a ruling class, maybe you are the one who should be surfing elsewhere" - you again. Sounds like that same conspiracy theorist.

How can you say everything is a conspiracy to ME? You're the one with the illuminatis on your tail. You're the one who immediately jumped to the conclusion that since I was talking about the wealthy, I must be talking about the corrupt. I'm just your ordinary, everyday capitalist seeing between some lines here...

Cheers!

Okay, so now I'm a "complainer". Got any other names in your bag that you can drag out?

Since when has asking critical questions or demanding accountability and responsiveness from the government become so threatening? Are you an American, or some anti free speech member of the thought control pod people? Geez

I have to tell you Bloody Sam that i was in no way or manner trying to attack or malign you! When i sent you that post i was not trying to point a finger at you and say that you had a part on the attack on Stavka ...not in any manner. And i have to say i am sorry that you infered such a meaning from my post.

What is particularly ironical is that the main impetus for me sending you the post was what you yourself posted in no. 64 that gave the impression you were a judicious individual who did not believe in simply attacking people for their message but instead advocated wisdom and understanding! That is why i sent you the post ....definitely not because i thought you were attacking Stav. (As for your post on 63 where you told Stav of his spellign mistake i actually thought that funny, thus your thinking i sent you the post because i misinterpreted that as an 'attack' is simply not true).

Anyways i do nto like bad blood between people, especially if it is not warranted. Hence again i apologize for any adverse meaning you may have derived from my post, and once again no harm was meant.

Freep-on and blessed holidays.

No problem.

I must admit that I was a bit quick on the trigger when I read this:
"I personally think it is a mark of atrophied mental acumen when someone blindly uses vitriolic diatribe against a fellow Freeper..."

Since I hadn't resorted to vitriole and believe my mental acumen to be particularly well adjusted...I took umbrage at the remark. Perhaps a bit too quickly. Believe it or not, I can be a bit too thin skinned sometimes. Especially when I read only half of a reply before I start whipping off a sarcastic retort.

As an aside though...Stavka2's past posting practices were as much to blame for the responses he got as the relative mental acumen of the Freepers who responded to him.

Thanks for responding.
Cheers.

"Actually, I could care less about what type of vehicle people drive. I also have no problem with people living within the standard of living that they can afford. Unfortunity, our standard of living is based on consumerism and credit and our entire economy is dependent on the expansion of both. This false "wealth creation" leads to excesses. I have no debt and depend on the government for no handouts, therefor I live within my means."

Where to begin?...Very well, please define "economic excess". Your claim that "our standard of living is based on consumerism and credit and our entire economy is dependent on the expansion of both" is not a definition of economic excess. How--precisely--did we become the wealthiest nation on Earth? By 'exploitation' of the poor Saudi princes? Or by 'exploitation' of Bolivian aluminum mines? The Bolivians are certainly pleased--they now have jobs and income from a resource they did not even imagine beneath their feet.

The alternative is precisely what? Which nation do you hold up as an exemplar--one which does not commit "economic excess"? Japan? Pfft. North Korea? They're eating tree bark and in some remote places, each other. Cuba? Have a cigar, comrade.

I here publicly offer you a first-class, one-way ticket to the nation of your choice--one without "economic excess"--on the sole condition that you agree never to return. I am completely serious and stand ready. Name your flight, destination, and time.

"This false wealth creation leads to excesses."

A merry game. You don't like my example of economic excess--using a popular target like SUVs, so I ask you to name three specific examples of what you consider "economic excess".

"You really do need to break the chains of your own linear thinking. You keep going back to the party line play book for things like SUV's and nonsense like that. In your own small mind, if someone questions a war with Iraq, they are against SUV's and need to be monks. You really are a silly person."

It is called reductio ad absurdum, and in this particular case, it is you who have been reductioed into absurdum.

And what you call "linear thinking" has another name. Most people call it "logic."

Oh boris, just more and more of the same from you -- SUV's, North Korea, Cuban cigars, plane tickets out of the country, exploitation -- a bunch of hot topic keys words strung together in the hopes that the reader can make sense out of your nonsense. Spare us all from your so called overly generalized and simplistic "logic", please.

There is nothing wrong with asking critical questions of the government and the direction the country is taking.

Please don't respond. Your rants lack substance.

No, you're perfectly right there. But there's a difference between asking critical questions and asking a litany of questions and complaints similar to those that are heard from small children in the back seat of a car during a long road trip ...
"Are we there yet?"
"Are we there yet?"
"Boris is touching me!"
"Boris is breathing on me."
"George is on my side of the seat!"
"George is shredding the Constitution!"
"Are we there yet?"
ad nauseum

Well, let's just sit here on our butts with our thumbs stuck in our arse and mouth and wait to accept the onset of the salamiism. Everybody will get a piece of the action in Iraq ala Afghanistan. New US Mil doctrine -- buy your 'enemies' if you can, makes it easier. It's easier to win wars walking around with sacksofgreenbacks. There's no need to get hysterical about Iraq; hopefully the world will be as dumbfounded by events as happened in Afghanistan. Plans are in the works. The geopolitical map and framework of the world is changing.

The forces of modernity are on the march. Araby trembles. (he he

Oh yes, I forgot -- the American people and taxpayers are to be treated as you would annoying children. Maybe the government needs to take care of them and decide how to spend their money, etc. Oh boy, just what we need. More mindless obedience to the marching orders of the saluters. Yikes, you're scaring me.

You should put up the flag of the state in which you reside on your Freeper page.I'll try a few from the bottom up:

30)Why is the Zimbabwean anti Communist opposition not receiving any help? They're surrounded by the countries of Mozambique, Malawi,Botswana and Zambia.Their fellow africans should help first, don't you think? Why didn't you ask this during Billy Jeff Clintons reign?
29.)Why are anti Chavez, pro democracy demonstrators not receiving any help?I believe our ambassador has helped get it to the point were in right now thank you very much.(Please feel free to search google and read about it online.)
28.)S.A. only publicly says that. What goes on privately and behind the scenes is...Geez are you serious?
27.) God only knows why we give AraFat Money
20.) What happens if Pakistan goes rouge and has nukes? What do you mean Rogue?Yeah right, like they'll withdraw from the U.N. and give up their vote as a nation or something? Puhleeease. That's why India has acquired Nuclear Weapons.
14.)Since Saddam is such a mad dog and has had chemical weapons for over twenty years, why hasn't he launched them on Israel?Uhhh, because he knows that Iraq would be incinerated by their Nuclear Weapons.( that seems like a rhetorical question IMO.)
13.)What happens if Iran invades southern Iraq? Anyone who does this dies. That won't ever happen btw.
Your questions read like they're written by a foreigner, not that's there's anything wrong w/ that.As long as your a legal citizen of course. Are you here legally? I'm curious.Geez, I've really got to get back to work.
