Your questions are for you to debate the merits on them and not to get the answers. You should just state your own opinion on each and then have the debate. By your posts it looks like your mind isn't made up on these issues and you want someone to point you in the right direction. Well, state what you think on each question backed up by your reasoning and facts and you'll make this thread 1000 posts !

FYI: You better have some facts to back up what you say because if not people here will just bash you ?

Many of your questions could merit a discussion on their own thread. Why not pick one at a time and get a good debate going. The list and your presentation come across as confrontational.

While I don't condone any personal attacks, it was pretty clear from the beginning that the poster was not really interested in answers to any questions, especially given the false premises used to formulate the first five.

After that, the questions devolve in to hypotheticals and rhetoricals. I wonder what value the answers to most of the questions would have? For the most part they are questions about actions between 3rd parties. Do we honestly expect the administration to be proactively answering such questions? How would this be done? I mean what, you want Karl Rove to call a press conference about Turkey? Or perhaps they should post "position papers" on the whitehouse.gov website? This probably would be US hegemony.

Notice not one person had the balls to refute my position in post #83?

Seems people just want to go with the flow and not ask the HARD questions about the propriety of our elected officials actions and decisions?

Of course, the sheeple don't even want to think about what the unelected bureaucracy is doing in the name of "We the People"!

The frog really likes the warm water, in case you didn't notice...

Does Iraq have Nukes? Iraq does not have any nukes yet, so we will threaten to attack it, pressure it with war talk, humiliate its leadership and attack it at will.

North Korea has nukes and WMD and therefore we we will NEVER threaten to attack it, NEVER pressure it with war talk, NEVER humiliate its leadership and WILL NOT attack it at will. We will even allow it to finish deliveries on scud missiles we seize on the high seas to Yemen.

This sends a very clear message heard round the world; If you do not have nukes and WMD the USA will treat you like Yugoslavia and Iraq if you develop nukes and WMD (and the ability to deliver them) in time you will be treated with distance and respect like we treat Pakistan, and North Korea.

That is why I know Iraq does not have online nukes (chemical and bio weapons are 19th century technology so it is very possible the Iraqis can make and use them with little difficulty) at the moment because we are bullying Iraq around at will UNLIKE how we are treating North Korea.

1. Why hasn't the upcoming Iraqi war been publically debated?

The war has already started and congress voted in favor of it.

2. Why hasn't Congress done it's job on the war?

See answer to question 1.

3. What are the actual costs going to be to the taxpayers of this war, and I don't been some ball park figures but detailed cost estimates? Best/worst case scenarios?

Best case scenario 30 to 50 billion, worst case we lose our country.

4. Where is the money coming from?

Public debt

5. How much largeness will the US oil companies and defense industries receive from this war?

None. Look at Kuwait for reference.

6. What happens if the Iraqi oil fields are destroyed and what will be the cost of reopenning them?

The oil fields will be rebuilt and the oil will pay for the rebuilding.

7. What will be the cost of rebuilding Iraq and what is/if there is the plan for this?

This war is very precise and should cause little collateral damage (aside from what Saddam does) Oil proceeds will pay for rebuilding the country.

8. What exact form of government will replace Iraqi Saddam/Batha rule?

Democracy. We always put in Democracies.

9. Why is the US negotiating with Iranian mullahs for the government, members of the very organization it opposes in Iran?

This question is nonsensical. Please elaborate

10. Why is the US negotiating with exiled Iraqi generals who have human rights records worse then Saddam, to include "The Chemist"?

Negotiating what?

11. What happens if Kurdistan declares independence...will this be supported?

The Kurds won’t declare independence without our blessing, unless they are incredibly stupid.

12. What happens if Turkey invades Kurdistan and begins a whole sale slaughter?

If they had our blessing when they declared independence we would probably stop the slaughter.

13. What happens if Iran invades southern Iraq?

It will give us an excuse to conquer Iran.

14. Since Saddam is such a mad dog and has had chemical weapons for over twenty years, why hasn't he launched them on Israel?

Because Israel has nukes and isn’t afraid to use them.

15. How will taking out Saddam, a socialist, make the US safer from Islamic terrorists financed by Saudi Arabia and various other emerites?

Saddam currently finances terrorists, we will take out the financiers one at a time.

16. Why have the Saudies been allowed to amass WMD and over 100 missiles?

They are wealthy and smarter than Saddam.

17. What is the end state in Afghanistan?

Several smaller countries.

18. What happens if Taliban launches offensives during Iraqi war? Where will reinforcements come from since all three participating divisions will also be in Iraq?

A couple of predators will stop any Taliban offensive. The Taliban have already been defeated.

19. How much is the US willing to spend to rebuild Afghanistan?

As little as possible.

20. What happens if Pakistan goes rouge and has nukes?

Pakistan has nukes and if it attacks India, then India will nuke the pakis back to the stone age.

21. Why have oil prices been allowed to climb up to the highest point in 2 years and retail had its worst season in 30 years.

Venezuela is having a crises.

22. Why are foreign software engineers still being hired and imported at autrocious rates while domestic workers sit in unemployement?

They aren’t. The companies are currently using them in their own countries.

23. Why are Mexicans still being supported as illegals in the US?

Because the Democrats want their votes.

24. Why is the federal government still pushing for billingual services to these illegals?

Because the Democrats want their votes.

25. Why was NATO enlargement not even debated seriously, when this causes the US to willingly go to nuclear war for countries such as Romania. When this will cost the tax payer twice as much as last time, to the tune of $65 billion dollars, to subsidize the US military industry in selling systems to poor countries.

They are better friends than enemies.

26. Why are US troops still in the Balkins and the US is still backing the KLA?

To placate the Europeans.

27. Why is the US still giving money to Arafat?

To appear even handed in our dealings with the Israelis and the Pali’s.

28. Why is the US still spending globs of money, around $10 billion/year, defending Saudi Arabia when it refuses to cooperate with the US?

Please show the source of your costs, they are not accurate.

29. Why are anti Chavez, pro democracy demonstrators not receiving any help?

They are probably receiving some help. The situation will probably resolve itself in our favor whatever the outcome.

30. Why is the Zimbabwean anti Communist opposition not receiving any help?

No one cares. If they want to starve to death we will let them.

31. Why did the Rumsfield inquiry into waste, fraud and abuse in the US military and National Guard come to such a sudden halt?

The current war is just a higher priority, that's all.

32. Why is air safety in US airports just as much of a joke still as it was before?

Because they don’t require passengers to carry handguns.

To true, to true. Note, also, the message that the Serbs learned from the Croats and the Bosniaks and the Albanians and Saudies...if you want to be left alone and given a free hand (even helping hand) in any kind of wrong doing, start dishing out the Danesgeld to the US Congress.

The well thought out responses to the questions shows the logic and thinking behind the wish to invade Iraq. If you don't agree with the message, attack the messenger. Where are the intelligent replies to Straka's questions? It seems like most are attacks instead of answers.

Frightening, ain't it?

Where is the money coming from? Public debt

Yes but from where, taxation, deficit spending. And how will this in the end be made up for?

Democracy. We always put in Democracies

I wish this was true, but hardly. Through out Africa and S. America, the US has supported dictatorial strong men. In Iran, the democratic government was overthrown with the aid of the CIA and the Sha installed. In Greece, the US supported the Regime of the Colonels: a militacracy. In Pakistan it's the same.

Negotiating what?

Negotiating the future Iraqi government.

If they had our blessing when they declared independence we would probably stop the slaughter.

As it stands, we protect the Kurds from the Iraqies but the Turks go on annual Kurd hunts with thousands of soldiers.

Since Saddam is such a mad dog and has had chemical weapons for over twenty years, why hasn't he launched them on Israel? Because Israel has nukes and isn’t afraid to use them.

It's funny, since everyone recognizes this as reality, yet when it comes to the US that doesn't have 200 nukes but on the order of 10,000 , the logic seems to break down and Saddam turns into a raving lunatic out for self destruction. Socialists are rarely such, to find the raving lunatics, look south to the religeous nut jobs, called Saudies.

A couple of predators will stop any Taliban offensive. The Taliban have already been defeated.

Funny, for a bunch of defeated guys, they still tie down a US division and other international forces and still cause a slow rate of attrition. Not to mention almost daily rocket attacks. As for Pakistan, why would they aim at India and not America. Consider that it was Pakistani intelligence that created and supported the Taliban and Al Quida, along with Saudi Arabia (both by the way, "moderate and good allies" of America). What is it to say they don't sail a ship into NYC harbor with a nuke?

Why are foreign software engineers still being hired and imported at autrocious rates while domestic workers sit in unemployement? They aren’t. The companies are currently using them in their own countries.

Wrong, the number of visas is still going up.

Why are Mexicans still being supported as illegals in the US? Because the Democrats want their votes.

Wrong again, Republicans have been in power for 2 years now and have had control of the Congress for almost 5, yet the process is accelerating with Mexican truck drivers soon to be roving all of the American highways. That is, people who can't even read the signs.

So NATO enlargement and the $65 billion dollar price tag (granted estimated, but the much smaller enlargement held a $35 billion dollar price tag) doesn't even deserve debate? So much for money management.

> We may work with them if it helps us, but we didn't militarily overthrow those countries and put them in power. For example Musharef (sp) was persona non grata until he decided to help us fight the war in Afghanistan.

-------------

Negotiating what?

Negotiating the future Iraqi government.

> They are simply getting advice.

---------

If they had our blessing when they declared independence we would probably stop the slaughter.

As it stands, we protect the Kurds from the Iraqies but the Turks go on annual Kurd hunts with thousands of soldiers.

> sorry but again you are factually incorrect Saddam has killed more Kurds than the Turks, we don't protect them and they know it.

-------------

Since Saddam is such a mad dog and has had chemical weapons for over twenty years, why hasn't he launched them on Israel?

Because Israel has nukes and isn’t afraid to use them.

-----------

It's funny, since everyone recognizes this as reality, yet when it comes to the US that doesn't have 200 nukes but on the order of 10,000 , the logic seems to break down and Saddam turns into a raving lunatic out for self destruction. Socialists are rarely such, to find the raving lunatics, look south to the religeous nut jobs, called Saudies.

The Saudi leaders are not religious nut jobs, many of their subjects are though. The Saudi leaders simply want to stay in power and will do whatever they have to to accomplish that end. That is why they are trying as hard as they can to straddle the fence.

--------------------

A couple of predators will stop any Taliban offensive. The Taliban have already been defeated.

Funny, for a bunch of defeated guys, they still tie down a US division and other international forces and still cause a slow rate of attrition. Not to mention almost daily rocket attacks.

> That is all the taliban are capable of doing, they seem to be less effective than the pali women and children bombers.

---------

As for Pakistan, why would they aim at India and not America. Consider that it was Pakistani intelligence that created and supported the Taliban and Al Quida, along with Saudi Arabia (both by the way, "moderate and good allies" of America). What is it to say they don't sail a ship into NYC harbor with a nuke?

> Remember our 10,000 nukes? They may hate us but they don't have a suicide wish. Besides they Hate the Indians more, remember the last little border incident there. They don't have any nukes to spare.

--------------

Why are foreign software engineers still being hired and imported at autrocious rates while domestic workers sit in unemployement?

> They aren’t. The companies are currently using them in their own countries. That is the new and more disturbing trend, it would be better if we brought them here and didn't potentially create foreign competitors.

Wrong, the number of visas is still going up.

> Sorry but the "Rate" of Visa growth is way down. The truth is their is very little hiring in the high tech companies right now. Layoff and unpaid vacations are the norm.

---------------

Why are Mexicans still being supported as illegals in the US?

Because the Democrats want their votes.

Wrong again, Republicans have been in power for 2 years now and have had control of the Congress for almost 5, yet the process is accelerating with Mexican truck drivers soon to be roving all of the American highways. That is, people who can't even read the signs.

I drive down in Mexico all the time and I can't read the signs :) Both the Democrats and the Republicans (the pubs are playing catchup) are trying to buy the hispanic vote, the main border state that is trying to buy their votes is California a democratic strong hold.

--------

So NATO enlargement and the $65 billion dollar price tag (granted estimated, but the much smaller enlargement held a $35 billion dollar price tag) doesn't even deserve debate? So much for money management.

Money that we spend abroad usually has strings attached that require that the recipients buy US products. When you factor in taxes and future sales the original seed money often looks like a very good investment.
