How many GPS-guided GBU-28s would it take to shut Yongbyong down?

Do we have enough B-2s for a follow-on strike?

It's a wonder the Commie socialist democruds can connect toilet paper with the tiny dot on their tight arses. It must be real disconcerting to them to stop whining, screaming, throwing dust and rocks into the air long enough to attend to business.

You posted, ....I am afraid the NK's are going to blunder into a war.

The NK's and the Islamofascists, the Euro Trash liberals and others still think that the Clintoon and Da$$hole run this country. They constantly underestimate President and our military under Rummy and President Bush.

That will prove to be very fatal to the NK's and the Islamofascist thugs who rule Iraq, Iran and Syria!

The NK's and Islamofascist thugs will continue to read the NY Slimes, DC Compost and watch and listen to ABCNNBCBS and think that these left wing maggots represent America in their whining and a$$ kissing of those who would kill us in a Hollywood minute!

They are caught in some old and dangerous timewarp where they think the Clintoon and Da$$hole and Patty Murray are in charge and 9/11 has been forgotten. The Axis of evil will probably be history by the next 9/11 anniversary.

USS Truman has already shipped out....

The USS Harry S. Truman - US Navy's most modern aircraft carrier - left the French port of Marseille en route for the eastern Mediterranean to support a possible war on Iraq, on Friday, four days after anchoring in the port.

When people start whinning about his diplomatic approach they should remember what Powell is, a General. That means he understands that he serves at the pleasure of his commanding officer, the president.

Also explains why he quit when Clinton was President ..

IIRC, the Truman's already deployed.

This is going to be another of the carrier battle groups we have out there.

We had a young Marine at our home for Christmas this year. He was gonna stay with us thru new years. (D.C. sightseeing and all that kind of stuff.) He got a phone call Christmas day and headed back yesterday morning.

He had just gotten back from 6 months over there. Spent most of his time stationed off the coast of Bahrain.

I believe the Truman is already in the Med. I think 'alert' means, get ready to go to the area. Either way, we should know soon.

Thanks, So9.

But, letting them celebrate CHRISTMAS?!?

Does that mean that Christians are still being accepted in the US military?

Always still useful for cannon fodder I guess, not in much demand for anything else, here at home.

Interesting post. One diplomatic factor to consider is the recent election of a dreaded "moderate" in South Korea. It could be that the NK's are rattling their swords for regional reasons and not trying to pull the US into a unilateral invasion.

That said, the situation in NK seems to warrant an Israeli-like air strike to take out the operable nuclear sites and not an all-out military action. Iraq didn't respond in 1981 and I doubt NK will today.

Someone with military experience -- does this make sense?

The problem is, it is not just at Yongbyon. It (the nuke program) is also scattered throughout the country, and some hidden underground, such as Mt. Chonma, also a site referred to as "Hagop" (arguments over where it is actually), Taechon, Reiteri, and then
facilities up near the Chinese border. It would seem the first thing we would do is disable all North Korea scud, nodong and taepondong launchsites (also scattered around the country and some deep underground). We would have quite an artillery fire across the DMZ into the south and on Seoul, too. We would have our hands full trying to neutralize that as the death toll in the south rose.

"Crunch time" for the free world feels like an understatement.

Let us earnestly pray it's not Custer's last stand in the coming months.

Now, that's just cruel!

You know that some Koreans consider DOG a delicacy, and Hitlery is a very large example.
Probably enough to feed a NK village for a week!

("it takes a village", you know)

...Instead, they started shipping SCUDS to Iraq...

I wonder if Iraq is offering to pay North Korea for bomb material, and that's why North Korea kicked out the UN inspectors and started up the reactors.
