Extramarital sex is not good for the heart
December 04 2002 at 05:40AM
Hamburg - Extramarital sex can increase your risk of having a heart attack, a British cardiologist has said in the German city of Hamburg.
Graham Jackson, a heart specialist at St Thomas's Hospital in London, found couples in long-term relationships were far less likely to have heart attacks while having sex than those having affairs or one-night stands.
"We found that 75 percent of the cases of sudden death during sexual activity involved people who were taking part in extramarital sexual intercourse," Jackson said.
He added the danger of having heart failure during extra-marital sex was exacerbated when there was a significant difference in age between the partners. - Reuters

Dick Armey agrees with you.
Nominated for quote of the year is the statement made by Representative Dick Armey, who when asked if he had been in President Clinton's place, would he have resigned? He responded: "If I were in the President's place I would not have gotten a chance to resign. I would be laying in a pool of my own blood, hearing Mrs. Armey standing over me saying, "How do I reload this damn thing?"

Maybe it's too stimulating because it's new and different--and has that tang of the forbidden.

There is a HUGE difference between your title and the article.
The title deals with Extra Maritial Sex, while the article deals with Extramarital Sex. Two very different beasts.

"We found that 75 percent of the cases of sudden death during sexual activity involved people who were taking part in extramarital sexual intercourse," Jackson said." Well, common sense tells you that these such ocurrances are because the system is in shock as a result of finally getting something that someone else is neglecting to provide at home. I'll probably get flamed for this but have at it!

As the nurse told me the day I was released from the hospital after bypass surgery;
Roosting in another's nest, leads to cardiac arrest.
The price you pay for evening's sport is lifelong case of rigor mortis.

Reuters....phttt!!!
These paragons of objective reporting should stick with what they distort best; Jihadhi freedom fighters and the imperialistic Zionist Israelis.
Leave the moral pontificating to those who know what's best for the rest of us; The lefty liberals.

...And if you are caught in the act by your spouse, you can utter the famous words, "Who are you gonna believe - me, or your own lying eyes?"

This is kind of a "Duh."
1. The participants are out of shape for lack of practice.
2. The participants are getting every penny out of what they paid for the hotel room. By 4am even I would be tired.
3. There may be even less married sex going on than even I thought possible.

A recent poll of dubious origin stated that 60% of German women have had lesbian affairs. How does this fit into the heart attack study?

I suppose it is to state the obvious.
But not for some.
As a shrink, I can't recall a single case
where there was a significant difference in needs and preferences for significantly more sex
WHEN THERE WAS NOT A PRECEDING LACK OF
EMOTIONAL INTIMACY.
And USUALLY, the person asking for/demanding more sex was at least 55-75% responsible for the lack of emotional intimacy.
And just because men can be quick on the draw and in a number of different worlds with a number of different mental partners and some even fairly detached from the genital process OR focused almost totally on THEIR GENITALS only--Most Women tend NOT to be wired that way--at least from the reports I've heard from more than 800-1,000 individuals.
Intimacy seems to me to be usually concerned MUCH MORE WITH thoughtfulness, kindness, warmth, cherishing communication, non-sexual affection etc. BEFORE it is concerned with sex. Without the former, I haven't observed a great deal of sexual intimacy.
Of course sexual conquest and athletics are not to be confused with sexual intimacy.
One seems to be a fairly self-absorbed race to see who gets the mostest.
The other seems to be a dance of giving the most and enjoying the response to the giving.
IMHO . . .
