Its everyone business and respnsibility in these United States to encourage people to exercise use of common sense you moron.

Well, thank God that we've got nosy busybodies like you to tell all of us morons what common sense is and how to exercise it.

Thank you for your input, it has been duly ignored. I hope you feel better for having said it. Now buzz off.

The rant was not written by me. It was written by Ryan, an acquainance of mine who sell paintball supplies and who arranged the use of the private property for playing paintball.

I apologize for him if you think he was incoherent. I would guess that he is a little pissed that the SWAT team was sent out to roust a bunch of kids playing paintball.

Actually, I think they should outlaw ALL paintball equipment and public activities -- what the hell are you trying to teach your kids!!!

You're joking I hope. Kids who play paintball are the most wholesome kids I've seen ---they're outside in the fresh air, they're doing something that isn't very dangerous, they learn to be part of a team and good sportsmanship. No one gets hurt ---except a little bruise now and then.

Anyone who thinks paintball is a crime or bad needs to get out there and try it once.

This is unbelievable. I hate cops who think they are the law instead of protecting citizens from those who break it.

You should tell your friend to step back and take a deep breath. Inundating a police department with e-mail will be looked upon as extremely childish behavior and will do more damage to his cause than good.

He will be more effective with good legal representation. (Unfortunately)

How do the police, LEGALLY, tell a property owner what he can do with his property?

To paraphrase an old saying - In the land of paintball markers, the man with the gun is King. While the Police cannot legally tell a property owner what to do with his property if no laws are broken, they do it anyway.

And that is the problem.

Sorry, but you cought me at precisely the wrong time.

Yesterday, as I was driving between towns, some little paintballer tagged my white truck with a pink paintball. I didn't notice it until I got to the town and stepped out of my truck. It was on the side of the bed.

I am not so upset with the paint ball, because it will wash off, as I am with the callus disregard the young find with other peoples property. He (or she) could have just as easily hit the windshield of my truck, causing me to lose control. Or if my side window was down, hitting me.

Remember a few years ago, when the kid (I believe he was in Singapore) keyed some cars and was caned? Trust me, if I had seen the kid that hit my truck with the paintball, yesterday, caning would have been the least of his problems.

OK, rant over.

You need to get out of Florida and move west, where the range is free, miles and miles of it. They have massive paintball wars in the mountains west of Salt Lake City. I am a big supporter of paintball activities, but responsible paintball activities.

"Oh please -- that is plain paranoia"

Teaching young boys tactics and how to behave like men is paranoia? What a laugh.

I may be paranoid, but I'm not blind to the coming police state, and then stupid when I'm informed of it.

I would be teaching my children how to be physiclally fit, responsible for their actions, how to think under pressure, to observe rules, that there are winners and loosers in games and in life plus they would learn some basic tactics and fighting skills that would improve their chances of survival should they have to defend them selves or their nation, just to name a few educational points.

Glad you asked, Jerry.

I just got back from playing in a paintball tournament. We had a blast. No injuries or arguments. Just good ol fashioned competitive sport.

Perhaps you might be more comfortable in Canada. Freedom is not free, or tidy. Quit whining and leave already.

I assume by "they" you are referring to "government".

Ah, yes, let's pass some more laws restricting freedom in the name of ... well you said "parents teaching kids".

I don't care for the paintball thing myself but I darned sure don't want government passing more laws restricting even more of our freedoms.

As conservatives we claim we want people to be responsible for their own actions and consequences and then we want "government" to pass more laws restricting actions?

It seems as if we have "gone around the bend" and want the government to solve all our woes.

On private property, a person should have no respect for any "authority" attempting to prevent lawful activity. Don't be such a wuss.
