I watched the interview and was really encouraged by Mel Gibson's attitude. I had no idea of his personal convictions towards the Word [Jesus]. He looked weathered but he was graceful nonetheless. He will stand the left's attempt to crucify him.
I will be there opening day to see his film.
Twice.
Go Mel.

This is so refreshing to read-another actor who is willing to swim upstream because he is comitted.
Unfortunately, Mel will likely win no more awards for anything if he is percieved to be a stand up guy for Christ and traditional values by the Hollywood elite.

"We Were Soldiers" was semi-tough to watch. Authenticity evoked strong reactions. As one veteran of the actual battle, who attended the special screening for survivors of that battle (held at Ft Benning, GA, just before it's release) said, "The only thing missing was the stench."
God bless the real-life reporter who co-wrote the book, and Mel for doing such a great job of bringing it to "life"!

"Mel will likely win no more awards for anything" He has already made his mark and is successful at what he does. He has nothing to prove to anybody. It is so heartening to see someone in his position stand up for his convictions.

If you think the crucifixion can be played as sexy, you've got deep problems. Right, Kristinn. There would be equal interest in the project if Don Knotts was the actor involoved. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's also true that he has met, several times with people at/from the Vatican in order to make his movie more---thorough I suppose is the right word. That fact alone says plenty.

Mel Gibson isn't in the movie. He is merely directing and producing it. A devout Catholic with the last name Cavliezlel (something like that) has the starring role. Mel has said he would never play Jesus.

Conspiracy Theory was based on his father who is a big time tin foiler. Gotta love that!

Mel is the only actor I will pay money to see in the theater! He is a conservative, pro-life, Christian. May God bless him and keep he and his family safe.

Mel Gibson is a hero - a man of his (Christian) convictions, who dares to put something meaningful on the line to affirm those convictions... He is being attacked because there are those who are threated by the overwhelming good and grace of Jesus Christ.

I will be there opening day to see his film. So shall I. It will be a powerful reminder of God's love for each of us.

I agree with you, O'Reilly claims to be Roman Catholic, but the more I watch that bag of wind, the less respect I have for him. When O'Reilly asks Gibson "What's the point?" you know that O'Reilly is far from where he needs to be.

"He is being attacked because there are those who are threated by the overwhelming good and grace of Jesus Christ." Not to mention that the liberals have worked hard to make the great strides in suppressing Christianity in America to the extreme extent that they have. A powerful movie such as this could have the *GULP" horrifying effect of convicting people of their sins and moving them to repentence thereby rendering much of their (the liberals) work to have been in vain.
"Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 6:12)

O'Reilly also was clueless enough to ask Mel Gibson if the 'Jesus' movie: "wouldn't be offensive to Jews". Mel quietly replied: "That's not the intention". The term: 'Patience of a saint' applies when a Christian does an interview with the clueless Catholic, Bill O'Reilly, who believes only the Gospels are the Word of God. All else is filler, I guess. Anyway, Mel did fine of course, as will his movie.
Note to self: Ignore Bill O'Reilly whenever he discusses anything about religion, especially Christianity.

You are aware that Mr. Gibson is one of those dreadful Popish Romanists (or is that Romish Papists), aren't you?

The guy playing Jesus, James Caviezel, was the lead actor in The Count of Monte Cristo. He's pretty good.Caviezel was a presenter on the last Dove Awards (Christian music award show). Sounds like a good guy.

I watched the interview too....Mel is a devout Catholic,...he even has a chapel in his home where Latin Masses are conducted.... His only daughter wants to be a nun, too.
