I would say so. When the attack he was coming under by this reporter trying to dig up dirt on him and prying into his private affairs was addressed, Mel said that this kind of production tends to generate enemies and went on to say that the guy had been "sent".

By Pellicano, perhaps??

Mel Gibson Puts Career On the Line for the Gospel

Ha ha ha! "Career on the line"??? Give me a break. He paid for this movie out of pocket. It will be one of the greatest movies ever made. He remains a huge force in Hollywood. There is no downside whatsoever.

I will go see every movie he is involved in. For two reasons...

1. to support him
2. to stare at him for two hours or more

Mel Gibson has such an amazing inner strength, that I always thought he was this incredible-looking older man. I had no idea he was only 47!

His character and integrity transends his looks. But, still....

Swoooon.

Post 126... Is that really true?

It's a beautiful story. But, I heard that it was only a urban legend.

I saw an interview on EWTN a while back with a lady who is a practicing Catholic working in Hollywood to create quality films that embody Christian ideals. I can't remember her name, but given the low percentage of faithful Christians in Hollywood you probably know her.

I'm right there with you sister!! And thanks for your additional photo posts....like one said earlier, Ann Coulter threads *always* have supplemental photos, I say we start that tradition now with the oft postings of Mel!

NY, have you seen this thread yet? I've been "absent" all week, but I did see (and taped) the interview. One of the most powerful comments I thought Mel made was when he said that this (or these in the media) were "sent." Immediately, (as did many others I've been conversing with on another forum thought the same thing)...someone sent by the "dark side."

As he said, "spooky."

I say, "go get 'em Mel!"

I mean those who are heroes because they stand up for what is right no matter what the personal cost to themselves. It is certainly not something often seen in either Hollywood celebrities or those in public life. Mel Gibson seems to be one of those shining exceptions.

It must be really tough to be one of the only non-conformists in an extremely conformist place like Hollywood. I admire Mel Gibson --he's also one of the only good actors around.

In other words, it will be an authenitic tragidrama depicting Christ's crucifixion with the requisite inclusion of "a little shot of me bum for the ladies."

Mel Gibson is one of the only ones in Hollywood who isnt' absorbed with his good-looks. Several of his movies had nothing to do with his looks or sex-appeal ---Man Without a Face, Braveheart. Of course in Braveheart he tried to look ugly with the face paint and matted hair but he couldn't.

A decade ago, Gibson figured out the ideal way to remain a lead is to play great heros. William Wallace, a patriot, Hal Moore, now Jesus.
