Mel Gibson Puts Career On the Line for the Gospel

I was just watching O'Reilly interviewing Mel Gibson who is doing a very graphic movie making a very strong statement about the death of Christ. It was evident to me in the interview that Mel is committed to getting the Christian message out although he apparently is quite aware that there are those in America (of course) who are busy now behind the scenes trying to generate a scandal, even going so far as to try and intimidate his elderly father into making incriminating statements. Normally I could care less about what the morons in Hollywood are doing, but this was such a refreshing change from the usual liberal weirdness and perversity that I just had to start a thread.

I've heard about this movie and am eager to see it. Just wathed "When We Were Soldiers" last night. There again, he was a Christian. That cute little scene of him with his young daughter praying. Very funny.

Gallipoli is one of the best war/anti-war movies of all time.
If you do not feel emotion at the end of that movie, you ain't alive.

"but married 20 years in Hollywood" That says a lot right there. A lasting marriage in Hollywood is almost unheard of.

We saw Mel Gibson's move "The Patriot" in a movie theater and at the end the audience stood up and applauded (never saw that happen before). We watched clips of this new, controversial movie tonight on O'Reilly's show. As Catholics, we've never seen anything like what the real death of Christ was like and the clips shown seem to be true reality. As Catholics, perhaps it's about time we face this reality.

Somehow, I doubt that Mel's buddy, Danny Glover, will be co-starring in this one.

Mel was born in America, but his family moved to Australia when he was younger.

I hope it's subtitled. I don't know any Aramaic.

Mel Is a good man pray for him as i will.
To: Deport Billary
Won't be subtitled. Mel says the images will transend any verbal barriers.

I hope you're right. There was once a time where many Americans may have been able to follow a Latin language movie. That time is past. Why would I go see a movie which I wouldn't be able to understand.
Besides which, I already know the ending.

We will need Brother Maynard:
ARTHUR: There! Look!
BEDEVERE: What does it say?
GALAHAD: What language is this?
BEDEVERE: Brother Maynard, you are a scholar.
BROTHER MAYNARD: It is Aramaic!
GALAHAD: Of course. Joseph of Aramathea!
ALL: Of course.
ARTHUR: What does it say?
BROTHER MAYNARD: It reads ... "Here may be found the last words of Joseph of Aramathea."
Excitement.
BROTHER MAYNARD: "He who is valorous and pure of heart may find the Holy Grail in the aaaaarrrrrrggghhh..."
ARTHUR: What?
BROTHER MAYNARD: "The Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh..."

During a 9 month long Bible Study I took a few years ago, when we studied the Crucifiction, we learned in graphic detail the physical torment Christ suffered for humanity - from the lashings to the crown of thorns being beaten into his head to the actual crucifiction. On top of all this that Christ had to endure, he also had to endure God turning his face when he took in and paid for all the sins of mankind. Whew. I was drained. After that, I not only believed, but felt a love for Jesus unparalleled ever.
