Mel Gibson Puts Career On the Line for the Gospel

I was just watching O'Reilly interviewing Mel Gibson who is doing a very graphic movie making a very strong statement about the death of Christ. It was evident to me in the interview that Mel is committed to getting the Christian message out although he apparently is quite aware that there are those in America (of course) who are busy now behind the scenes trying to generate a scandal, even going so far as to try and intimidate his elderly father into making incriminating statements. Normally I could care less about what the morons in Hollywood are doing, but this was such a refreshing change from the usual liberal weirdness and perversity that I just had to start a thread.

I tried bumping you guys to #17, too, but your names didn't work, although they do now..."spooky."

I'm sorry I missed that interview. I believe Mel is Austrailian, but I have always enjoyed his movies.

Mel rocked! He did a lot to show how a true religion of peace is practiced.
God bless him while he endures this attack. Talk about having your stuff together.
This guy is human fallible just like us all, but his priorities and heart sure seem right (albeit based on very limited information).
Saw the segment, plan on watching it again at 23:00 hrs EST. Christians, tune in it will do your heart good.

Mel was born in the U.S., so if he hasn't renounced his citizenship, he is still technically American.

" I heard it is being filmed in latin and aramaic." I didn't hear it said when the movie would be released but when O'Reilly suggested in his usual clueless way when it comes to issues like this that it seemed strange to do it in a language that nobody could understand Mel said that the message was for all time and all people and that the imagery superceded language. It was a powerful interview. If you missed it, I would urge you to watch the repeat if you get Fox.

The Gospel story in Aramaic and Latin...wow...talk about reality TV!
The photos from the film showing the scourged Christ carrying the terrible burden of His Cross are really powerful.
Mel is doing the world a favor...again.

I think that filming this movie in the original languages used at the time makes a powerful statement. I've always liked Mel Gibson's movies, I think this one is going to be awesome :)

God Bless Mel!
Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne and Audie Murphy are watching.
Didn't see it, but if O'Reilly didn't kiss his @ss, he can kiss mine!

"The confidence Mr. Gibson showed in his answers and attitude make Me believe that he knows exactly what is going on." I would say so. When the attack he was coming under by this reporter trying to dig up dirt on him and prying into his private affairs was addressed, Mel said that this kind of production tends to generate enemies and went on to say that the guy had been "sent".

I caught the tail end of this. When it comes on again, I'm going to record it. It is unconscionable that people are trying to get to Mel's elderly father over this. I don't know a whole lot about Mel Gibson, but from what I saw, I respect him a lot more than most of the Hollywood celebrities, who have nothing but contempt for their fans and only care about their hedonistic lifestyles and liberal pet causes.
I also like Bruce Willis (he's been traveling to forward units and bought one million Girl Scout cookies for the deployed troops), Robin Williams (who has been traveling and entertaining the deployed troops), and Drew Carey (he's been traveling to deployed troop areas and has put up a lot of money to give the guys food and other goodies).

Six Degrees of Hypocrisy: Ignorance runs deep in Hollywood, where guns are only accetable on the big screen. . .when there is profit to be made.
There is a sense of let-down with some of the stars. Schwarzenegger, who claims Republican leanings (despite supporting in-law gun-grabber Ted Kennedy's campaigns) is described by the press as "moderate on guns," meaning your rights have been terminated.
Another guy who captures the hearts (and pocketbooks) of gun-owning moviegoers is "The Patriot" Mel Gibson, whose "Lethal Weapon IV" referred to a psychopath as a "spokesman for the NRA." While he reveals that he has taken his children to shooting ranges and believes in self-defense, he admits "I don't even know whether I've made up my mind on [the Second Amendment]."
He's getting there by now, I'm sure. If one believes in self-defense and has taken his children to shooting ranges I think its safe to assume he's leaning towards supporting the Second Amendment.
If not, I know a few nuns who will whup his arse into line...
