Hackworthless give aid and comfort to the Enemy!
Sean Hannity Radio Show

Today on the Sean Hannity show, Col David Hackworth gave out some highly sensitive information on the air about US Forces deployed in the Middle East. I won't quote the location, so as not to further compound Hackworth's mistake. He is accusing our Military Leaders of not protecting some forces deployed in the Middle East.

What I have a problem with is this being "brought to light" on National Radio and the Web, and available to our enemies. He even recommended a weapon for our enemy to use against our troops at a specific location!!! That is what I have a problem with.

Hackworth is past his prime, hates this war, and really should not be given a national microphone.

I don't know why Hackworth's mind works as it does. Each person's reasoning is formed by his experiences. However, I will not question Hackworth's concern for our troops. We have too many Gulf War syndromes sitting in our veteran's hospitals to not realize that there has been some bad judgement made on the safety of our troops.
One of the worst offenses was when we started blowing up Iraqi munition dumps without knowing what was in them and failing to protect our troops from chemical exposure. In hindsight, this was inexcusable, but at the time probably seemed reasonable to a nonthinking member of the officer corp.

So it is ok with you that the position is not properly defended, just so long as nobody speaks of it in public?
Did you happen to listen to his discussion with Hannity today on the radio?
Frankly, I'm surprised you have not yet contacted your elected representatives to ask them how is it that our troops are left so unnecessarily exposed.
To: r9etb
So anyone who doesn't aggree with the war or the DOD's treatment of our troops is an idiot right? Judging from the treatment they recieved during the last war (all the Gulf War Syndrome troops are hypochondriacs and whiners) I think maybe Hackworth has a point.

I did listen to the discussion, that's why I reported what I heard. What I heard was information that could be useful to our enemy. I'm not the one that has the information about this, it would seem you claim to have it, so have you contacted your elected rep? Or are you like Hack, who just goes on national TV and Radio to report our Military Leader's mistakes?

Wow! It's rare to find someone so utterly ignorant about the military.
Col. Hackworth started his career as an enlisted man. Attaining his rank after starting out as an enlisted was and is a major accomplishment. Whatever else he may be, he was a damn find soldier.

You remind me of the man who complained because they were going to hang him with a new rope.
You do know what security is, right?
That is a mighty lame insult you hurled at me. That the best you can do?

Bush is a master at media manipulation even more so than Clinton who was too obvious in his methods.
You left off the sarcasm tag. Whew.

Hackworth is past his prime, hates this war, and really should not be given a national microphone. Yep. Problem with Hack is that he can't seem to extricate himself from the Vietnam War and our colossal failures during that time. He's (literally) still living that war, and everything that comes out of his mouth is filtered through that reality tunnel. We've long ago exorcised the Vietnam demons, but for Hack they're as real as ever. He lost it completely when he threw away all his medals, started taking drugs, and otherwise lived the life of a bohemian. ....And he hasn't come back.

Where are all those medals now? At the bottom of the ocean somewhere? Hack was one fine soldier alright, but those days are long gone. Nowadays he's a freakin' lunatic.

Hack said the same things before the first Gulf War --- "our troops are sitting ducks" ....."We're seriously underestimating the strength of the Iraqi Army" .....and countless other ridiculous statements, each one of which we proved wrong. Yeah, he was a great soldier. But a military strategist he ain't.

That assumes that the enemy didn't already know about our weaknesses.
What the good Colonel has done is insure that if Al-crazeeda does back a truck full of C4 up to the compound and blows our beloved fighting marines to itty-bitty pieces, there will be a sufficient amount of ammunition to assure that those who ignored the security deficit pay with their careers and maybe even their freedom.
That could be enough to force the military brass to do something to beef up security before something bad happens.

Well, if that is how Hack plays his games, I sure hope he gets to the Miitary Brass before the the "Al-crazeeda" get to our troops.
Hate to see Hack have that C4 incident on his conscience.

These Clinton leftovers are still in abundance and should have been forced out in favor of the dedicated professionals rather than the "ticket punchers" Hey, maybe we can use these clowns to walk point into downtown Baghdad(?)

You are right. He was an outstanding combat leader. Unfortunately he has become nothing more than a shrill journalist who cloaks himself in the uniform he spat on and the country he abandoned in order to make a buck claiming he cares for the troops.

Focusing only on what he said today on Hannity's show, can you point to the major inaccuracies of his assertions?
Hack ain't the issue, our troop's security is.
To: W04Man
If the info that Hackworth gave out on Hannity is correct then he gave out nothing that the enemy does not already know, probably much better than the Americans know, and that needs to be addressed by the Pentagon or the appropriate general right now.

Clinton gutted the militaryI believe W has been doing what he can to rectify that problem. The marines did not get trashed nearly to the extent of the other three services aand marines have been put in charge all over see this post for instance href=http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/823961/posts. I don't know how to make a link of it so you must cut and paste it.
