He's really good on border issues, but he flat out lied and ran for a fourth term after stating unequivocally that he wouldn't. Not a man of high moral character, in my opinion.

Bob, I will give Tancredo a little slack on this. You say he lied, but I think he was naive. If Colo reps limit them selves, that leaves us with no senior members and at a decided disadvantage.

Tom was my rep until this election and I would vote for him again if I wasn't in a new district.

Anyhow, FReegards and you can bet I will be in touch with Beauprez about this bill and the soon to sunset so-called assault weapons bill.

I saw "VISUALIZE WORLD POLICE" on a great political cartoon.

It showed that slogan as a bumper sticker on the back of an enormous black limo pulled up outside of the UN building.

Oh, this will get passed. It lets the peasants carry guns w/out government snooping.

I hope that my book serves as wake up call for the gun grabbers, sort of like a "Danger! High Voltage!" sign on an electrical transformer that foolish children are playing with.

I'm not a gun person, simply becase I didn't grow up with them. I do, however, support the right to bear arms. The illegalization of firearms in England and Australia has caused a tremendous increase in crime in both of those countries. There have been studies statistically supporting the notion that, where carry permits are allowed, crime drops significantly. Ron Paul is a very bright light in a rather dim Congress.

My speculatio is that this bill will NEVER be introduced while the Republicans have a majority because then they would have to vote for it and it could pass.

Entertaining though HR 1762 is, it will quickly be assigned to the "Ron Paul Legislative Graveyard" and has not a snowball's chance of passage.

Unfortunately, the average GOP Congresscritter is nowhere near as conservative as we'd like to think.

Nice tag line. However, it is 1791 when the BOR was ratified.

Bob Schaffer said he would serve three terms, and walked away after he did.

Tancredo got wooed by the siren song of Washington and went back on a promise. That means he can be bought, because keeping his seat in the House is more important to him than his word and honor as a man.

Don't get me wrong; I like his stance on most issues. If I lived in his district when he was running the first three times I likely would have voted for him. But when you make a pledge like he did and then decide to not live up to it, then you're not worth much in my book. There's no way for me to respect him after that.

And from what I've heard, Beauprez isn't great on gun issues. Guess we'll see, and hope you can influence him properly.

Speak for yourself! ;o)

I think I've got 'em pretty well figured, myself. They're a bunch of wusses, for the most part, and precious few of them have any real regard for the Constitution.

I confess that I didn't. I was 19 at the time, it was my first presidential election, and I didn't have much of a clue politically.

If he ran again, I'd vote for him in a heartbeat.

Hopefully we will not need to sue for our rights using Rule 308.

Such an action would require high-caliber counsel.

It HAS BEEN introduced already!

It's chance of passage is directly related to how much effort the RKBA groups and individuals put into pushing it's passage.

No effort = no chance.

Lots of sincere effort = passage, at least passage of a portion of the bill.

Getiing rid of Brady is probably the hardest, but we should be able to get rid of at least the "sporting purposes" nonsense.

Any victory over the anti's is worth doing.

WTF?

I would have sworn it was listed with a 2003 date when I checked it on "Thomas"!

I am looking up Ron Paul's site addy, I originally found the notice on another board.

I am sure he WILL reintroduce it again if he has not already done so, particularly if WE make it clear to him that WE WILL lobby hard to keep it from dying in committee again.
