You were asked:

How are you going to clear out the "moral-liberal" content of the culture?
21 -AJA-

You asked for some examples? The so-called 'consenting adults' laws which the moral-liberal socialist-Democrats foisted upon society 30 years ago have brought about untold misery, disease, and death, and which never had to happen. Then there's their their no-fault divorce, their welfare schemes which basically destroyed the once-stable black family, the contraception dispensors in the schools, the pornography in the public libraries, and the list goes on and on.

These are 'laws' that if reversed would 'clear up' our culture? Mind boggling dreams you have CJ. Dreams of state 'moral' control, imo.

Be hopeful that your dreams of a state which has such power never comes to be, CJ. -- I fear you would be one of its first victims. Look to historical fascism for the proof.

Our nation survived really well for 170 years without this moral-liberal 'consenting adults' and other garbage laws which your ideological cousins proselytized and preached for. We understand your penchant for historical revisionism, tpaine, so we are not surprised that you would imply that the Founders were fascists.

They like to call it a 'crusade' to 'bring freedom.' But the driving force behind their campaign against morality is simply greed. Immorality generates money, and they're right behind, scooping it up.

Such laws were made to counter socialistic "garbage laws which your ideological cousins proselytized", CJ. -- I have no such 'statist' cousins.

We understand your penchant for historical revisionism, tpaine, so we are not surprised that you would imply that the Founders were fascists.

Amusing and baseless 'fascist' fantasy you have there CJ. Seek help.

Yes. Surprisingly to those who foolishly listen to the anarcho-revisionists, "Banned in Boston" was not the name of some pre-MTV melodious troope from colonial times, and was not intended merely for heinous acts, but for heinous objects, too.

Maybe because I don't have kids and I don't watch a lot of television, I don't understand what all the fuss is over.

Are there lewd, suggestive ads that seem to be selling something other than the actual product? Sure. Hasn't that been true for at leats 20 years? Not to mention the lyrics in most pop music, the films that come from Hollywood and perhaps the vilest thing out there - FREE DAYTIME TELEVISION - McLuhan's lowest common denominator cesspool from Soaps to Springer to Oprah.

If you had a choice between your eight-year-old son watching the chicks in the Lite Beer commericial, a rap song from Enimem or practically any episode of Jerry Springer, which would you choose?

If he's like most children, he's already been exposed to all three. You just didn't realize it.

What's a "consenting adult law"? The absence of a law against sodomy or fornication?

So, tpain, what is your answer to the sewer which is now cultural life? TV, movies, vicious games such as Grand Auto Theft (first person rape, muder and mayhem), rap glorifying rape and murder, etc - you think these are ok? Not harmful? "If you're against abortion don't have one"? Another poster up above clearly explained that sick minds which have been infected with moral leprosy (my words) infect and harm others, even others who have stayed away from the locus of disease.

Censorship is going to have to happen or:

1. Vigilante action - f'rinstance gangs going to the local library and adult shops and dragging out the porn and burning it (I kind of like that one) as well as picketing and/or boycotting at movie theatres, etc.

2. Our so-called culture will degenerate so much that people will just rape and eat each other alive. People will become worse than tigers. Mandatory buggering.

That's true. It also needs to be constantly made " lower " and " lower ", because last year's model no longer arouses.

I still think they are working hand in hand with the demoRATS. Take Erin Brokavich for example and the California energy crisis created by non other than the RAT governor Dufus. That's one of many examples out there of covert film releases at the most opportune times for demoRAT elections. It's more than obvious now that they are shilling for demoRAT causes. Hollywood has always been infested with marxist commies. The gun grabbers don't want to take our guns because of street violence they want to take our guns to leave us powerless against a tyranical government. Bet on it !

You should talk!

If by "ideology" you mean "a view of the way that other people should run their lives, that . . . you (( link )) - - - are justified in imposing on them by force", then the truth of the claim that ideology is irreversibly evil is obvious on the face of it.

Self control, my son, -- if necessary, abstinence from the fleshy pleasures of TV, books, movies, etc.

Well dear, YOU have forgotten not only about the old " BLUE LAWS ", but what that term means. You keep blasting away at CJ ; however, it is you, not he, he knows what those were and what they did . You, OTOH, keep implying that today's excesses ( see the article of this thread ), would have been condoned by the FFs; if not outright applauded. Except for Ben Franklin ( and maybe even he would blush ), not a one of them would have approved.

Does the fact that a law was in place at the time of the Founders justify it?

Simply not true dear. -- At 66, my memory is no doubt better than yours, being much younger.

You keep blasting away at CJ ; however, it is you, not he, he knows what those were and what they did.

Baseless comment. - I grew up in Minnesota, home of the Blue law Ox, and remember them well. In fact, they were part of why I left for sunny Cal in '58.

You, OTOH, keep implying that today's excesses ( see the article of this thread ), would have been condoned by the FFs; if not outright applauded.

Weird conclusion dear. Seek help with CJ, & qualify for group rates.

Except for Ben Franklin ( and maybe even he would blush ), not a one of them would have approved.

Whatever.

tp, you don't have that many years on me and my memory is far better than 99% of the world's population. It most assuredly is better than your's and your mangling Babe and BLUE LAWS ! LOL

My daughter went to camp in Minn.and I've seen , up close and personal, that famous statue of Paul Bunyon and Babe. Besides that, I heard about him in grammar school and saw the Disney cartoon, when it first came out. Stop attempting to claim superiority through age; some people never do manage to gain any wisdom...no matter how long they ( you ) live. And you aren't nearly as clever, as you imagine yourself to be. Perhaps , when you imagine that it's everyonme else who is out of step, it is , in reality, Y-O-U. ;^)
