Fox's weekend lineup is truly lame. They need to have some A team folks on standby on the weekends.

I doubt there has ever been a non believer set foot in a shuttle, or any other space vehicle either.

Congressman Culberson Statement Regarding Columbia Tragedy

On behalf of the people of west Houston's District Seven, U. S. Representative John Culberson (R-Houston) issued the following statement in response to the loss of the space shuttle Columbia and her crew:

"I know all Americans are praying for the shuttle crew, their families, and everyone involved in our manned space program. Our hearts go out to the families of the Columbia crew, and we will lift them up in our prayers in the days ahead. As a nation, we will learn from this tragedy to make space exploration safer, and the courage and vision of our astronauts will always inspire us. Our forefathers were not deterred by tragedy and hardship as they explored the unknown oceans and the western United States, and I am confident that our generation will not be deterred from further space exploration by this tragic accident today. May God bless the crew, their families and everyone at NASA."

Congressmen Culberson will not make any further statement until Monday in order to allow NASA investigators to gather additional information. He will be attending church services with family and friends this weekend in Houston.

"how many more tragedies must President Bush and our country endure?"

Quite a few I imagine. This is part of NOT spending enough on military related issues, NASA and space technology..... by the Clintongs....

JUST like 9-11 was partially related to their lack of commitment to our national security and total flubbing of international relations... even letting ben ladin off the hook when the libyans offered him to us (or was it the yemenis? or whoever?).

The pricetags for the evils that hillary, her thugs and hubby; are all coming due. EVERY thing was about him and her getting power and sex, and their hatred of America. THEY sabotaged EVERY program and institution we needed for our security and strength as a nation. THIS is yet another Clintong "PAYBACK PAYDAY" for our electing evil willie and his wicked wife... TWICE.

No this is NOT the last tragedy we will endure, that could have been avoided, but it will be instructive as to priorities and responsibilities of the federal government.

Are we going to fund the discovery, exploration and colonizing of Space, or social programs and their subjective moral enforcement of pet peeves for special interests; all at GREAT cost and expense to our security, military needs, technological development, medical tech, and real progress?

The age of technology will wipe out the age of socialism... or we will be stuck at this level for a very long time.

The naysayers will have to be dealt with.

I have confidence that twenty years hence the media reports about President Bush will modify over time and the true nature of his presidency will be spoken of with much more respect.

I pray that you are correct, cyn...but with so many of the historians being anti-Bush liberals, I have my doubts...I also see clinton's presidency being completely re-written due to their slavish love of him. I am hoping God has plans for all of this to work out the right and just way.

No; instead they think that they just aren't shouting their leftist message loud enough. Shout on. You're losing your audience at a rapid rate. Soon, with any luck, your voice will just be a distant echo.

You are exactly right...they think they are losing viewers because they are not anti-Bush enough. They allowed Paul Begala, on the night of the State of the Union, to call President Bush a "former drunk driver"..what more can I say? My hope is that the Lord will take care of these people in the way He sees fit. Lower ratings may be just the beginning of what they will endure.

Thanks much. I guess the President wouldn't have given the reference, but my daughter was talking through it so I didn't catch much after the book was mentioned.

it will be instructive as to priorities and responsibilities of the federal government.

Unfortunately, you are correct; and it is even more unfortunate that innocent Americans have had to pay with their lives for some to wake up, smell the coffee, and turn back to the standards of right is right and wrong is wrong. How appropriate that President Bush paints everything as either "good" or "evil," or "with us" or "with the terrorists." There is no middle, subjective, ground.

GW's closing was so wonderful, (I might be paraphrasing a bit):

It seems the crew of Columbia has not returned safely to earth, but we pray that they are home.

I had not kept up with shuttle flights, and I did not know who had flown on them or how often they are sent up. I was asking for information.

Our family spent a day at NASA last October, with my father and stepmother (they live in Orlando). What an amazing place!

Many blessings, prayers and virtual hugs offered your way, 3D. <><
