Lenny Kravitz isn't popular among black youth today because he plays more classic guitar rock. I always knew he was half white but I didn't know his mother was Helen from The Jeffersons and his dad produced the show. Weird. Anyway, I reason that's why mostly white girls like him. I never got into Kravitz because I don't like 'fros. I like Prince but don't love him.

I remember rap when it was really rap and also very clean. Everyone in my grade school class wanted to rap and be a dee-jay. Back then many of the black kids I knew weren't into crack, gang banging, etc. UNTIL rap turned ugly. Yes I know all the rationalizations.. oh they're talking about their experiences with cops, white racism, etc. That's crap. I noticed the immediate decline. All of a sudden you were accused of being white if you studied in class, teenage girls getting pregnant, and boys going to jail en masse. So I ask people, what exactly has rap done for today's black youth? I see more rank materialism, trashy ho's like Lil Kim, and more black racism and bitterness than every before.
When you talk about problems and not solutions to those problems, all you do get more bitter, more angry, and filled with hate.

Eminem had a hard life because his parents were horrible, and he gang banged with the street thugs. That's why he is so well liked in the black rap industry. He has a few good beats, but I could never play him out loud.

"Is that what you would have told the Jews ...under Hitler?"

It is a bit of a stretch to compare the changes wrought on ethnic neighborhoods by even overwhelming (and in many cases illegal) immigration with the official government policy of ghettos, concentration camps, and extermination for non-Aryan groups in Nazi Germany.

I like Lenny...my wife really likes him. It's quite a bit of chick rock....which is fine because in the early 70s when I came of age (the Classic Rock era) very few girls really liked the harder stuff...they were still more Top 40 oriented....I'm serious.

Prince....man ...women love him. I like his early work up to about the "Cream" time period. He could play a nasty guitar (like Zappa) but you only got it in small doses.

His new stuff is Prince-lite and doesn't do much for me.

Yes....even as an outsider, I watched rap devolve. Were groups like NWA and Public Enemy the start of the negativism....lol....Chuck D is an old fart like me now.

"Se afirma que el vocero de Bush comentó: ¡De prisa! ¿a quién le interesa lo que México tenga que decir? Y que el alemán apuró a Fox y lo sacó de una conferencia de prensa."

I wonder if this really happened?

"I believe that in less than 100 years, America will hardly resemble the America of today."

A bit late to make that prediction. The America of today hardly resembles the America of 50 years ago.

Change is the one constant.

I'm glad to see that at least one person got my (evidently very poorly worded) meaning-- and didn't read anything extra into it.

I guess they believe they already have control. Not quite yet but they're getting closer.

Anyway, you can't generalize. "Hispanics" encompass a variety of ethnic and racial groups. Most of the Latin Americans I worked with at my International Bank were just as pale as I am (and sometimes paler!).

"Hispanic" countries tend to be racially stratified, with the middle-class and upper-middle-class tending to be of mostly-European descent, and the lower classes being of mostly-Native descent.

From what I have read, it seems to be a case of Mexican reporters reporting that he said it but not coming up with anyone who heard him say it and Grenell deying that he ever said it.

So you live on what planet? Maybe Uranus?

There is a difference between illegal aliens who are in this country uninvited, legal aliens who are here to visit and immigrants who asked to come and plans to stay.

Calling night day does not make it any less dark outside.

I know the difference between someone that knocks politely on the door and asked to join the family and someone who comes in uninvited through the open window.

Do you?

Well, you seem to be changing your original words which were to the effect that there were no illegal immigrants in the country. The nationality is immaterial. There are plenty of illegal immigrants entering the U.S. on a daily basis.

Democrats are the ones who usually try to change the game plan after their words are questioned.

I know the difference btwn a conservative and a lurking leftist - do you?

You missed my point. Perhaps you should read them again.

Illegal aliens please there is no such thing as a illegal immigrant. An Immigrant comes through customs with visa in hand and a desire to become a citizen. Don't let them shape the argument by word usage.

It is very late in the game I know but I will keep fighting. Immigrents and illegal aliens are two very different things. When you allow the other side to define the word usage you allow them to define the debate.

I have been very consistent. There is no such thing as illegal immigrants there are only illegal aliens. An Immigrant has legal status and so can not be illegal.

I refuse to change my way of speaking because some bozo wants to be PC. Words mean things. The word immigrant has a certain meaning. An immigrant is a person who is legally in the country and plans to become a citizen.

Ok, my name is Mohammed Ahtoo but I buy a fake passport issued in the name of Jesper Weinberger, a jewish resident. I get a visa fraudulently. I pass thru U.S. Customs and am walking around freely in Iowa. Am I a legal immigrant, an illegal immigrant or an illegal alien?

Illegal alien. To be exact you are an illegal alien who gained entry through fraudulent means but you are still an illegal alien. The switch is either on or off. "Illegal Immigrant" is like saying "Illegal Citizen" Either you are or you aren't.
