First, W's rating was sliding until a minor bump from the SOU. Second, this isn't the business of the President; it's the business of Congress. I imagine the best Bush can do on this is arm-twist. Besides, do you think they give ANYONE in Congress that much info? You give something to Congress, you might as well run it on the front page of all the major newspapers. Anyway...point is she shouldn't be on this committee but it's also not the end of the world that she is.

Each party, majority or minority, gets a certain # of seats...the party in power gets to determine, to some degree, 1) How many seats the minority party gets (I think) and 2) Who chairs the committee (usually/most of the time/unless there's a deal/etc). Then, I *believe* the minority leader (Daschle) makes the appointments for his party. So that's how Hillary got there; and it's no surprise. The Dems. WANT her there. Beware Hillary. We never thought she could take New York. She did. *Beware*, those who laugh and say let her run in '08...we laughed almost as hard when Bubba launched his career, look where it got us. *Beware*. These people have made lying and re-writing recent history and present events an *art form*.
