Ted Cruz believes the shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., may provide additional evidence that the United States is at war. The Texas senator acknowledged that details about the shooting are still developing, but he said he worries that the attack is an example of Islamic terrorism. Cruz kicked off a Republican Jewish Coalition conference in Washington, D.C., with a moment of silence in light of the murders. "At this point the details of what happened in San Bernardino are still unclear. Our prayers are with the families of those that were murdered and those that were shot," Cruz said. "All...

U.S. Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz said the attack on a holiday party in California proves the nation is in "a time of war." Speaking Thursday before the Republican Jewish Coalition conference in Washington, D.C., Cruz said President Barack Obama was failing to take the necessary steps to protect the United States....... Cruz, who remains behind in the polls, said the attacks prove the country needs "a war-time president to defend" the nation.

And possibly incited released terrorists to kill again?Gitmo Attorneys shared photos of CIA covert agents with terrorists. Why no media outrage? Gitmo Attorney's violated the rules and passed along anti-U.S. propaganda inciting terrorists to kill again? Are these lawyers now working in Obama's Dept. of Justice? Keep America Safe asks the question:[VIDEO AT SITE] In an op-ed in Monday's Wall Street Journal Debra Burlingame, sister of "Chic" Burlingame III, pilot of American Airlines flight 77, which was crashed into the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, describes how attorneys representing the terrorists at the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba...

Why I defend "terrorists" An open letter to Cully Stimson, deputy assistant secretary of defense for detainee affairs, from a lawyer representing five men at Guantánamo. By Anant Raut Jan. 17, 2007 Cully Stimson Deputy Assistant Secretary for Detainee Affairs Department of Defense Washington, D.C. Dear Mr. Stimson, I am an associate in the Washington office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, a New York-based, international firm with 1,100 lawyers. I practice general corporate litigation. I also represent, on a pro bono basis, five men who are being held as "enemy combatants" at the U.S. detention center in Guantánamo Bay,...

Defense lawyers for Saddam Hussein released a letter on Thursday that he recently wrote in prison that attempts to persuade the American people to demand a troop pullout because President Bush misled them into the Iraq war. The 5,000-word letter is a rambling treatise outlining what Mr. Hussein asserts are the false reasons that the Bush administration used to justify the war in Iraq, from weapons of mass destruction to Iraqi links with Al Qaeda. Mr. Hussein blames Iran and pro-Israel interests for helping lead the Americans into war. He invokes the specter of Vietnam and the spirit of Mao...

CLEVELAND A federal grand jury has indicted three Ohio men on charges of planning attacks on U.S. military personnel in Iraq, according to an indictment. The three men, who all lived in Toledo within the last year, were arrested over the weekend, said Assistant U.S. Attorney David Bauer in Toledo. The indictment was unsealed Monday. They were to be arraigned in federal courts in Cleveland and Toledo on Tuesday afternoon. The suspects recruited others to train for a violent holy war against the United States and its allies in Iraq, the indictment said. The group traveled together to a shooting...

In a prime example of not leaving well enough alone, the father of John Walker Lindh has now publicly asked President Bush to grant his son clemency. John Walker, you may recall, was the American citizen captured while fighting alongside Taliban forces against our troops in Afghanistan. Rather than taking a bullet to the chest or being beheaded (as Islamic jihadists do when they capture Westerners), John Walker Lindh plea bargained a sentence of 20 years in a medium-security prison. Now his father says that sentence was too harsh. In a speech to the Commonwealth Club last week, Frank Lindh...

Al Gore has become somewhat of an American idol this past few years. After his departure from Washington in 2000 the ex-presidential candidate has switch-backed across the county giving thundering sermons to over-flowing auditoriums and town halls. He’s railed against the Republican agenda in Iraq, denouncing President Bush and the neocons at every turn. Gore is fast becoming the antiwar celebrity du jour, capturing the imaginations of many who fear the vicious Bush cartel. “Normally, we Americans lay the facts on the table, talk through the choices before us and make a decision. But that didn't really happen with this...

Gen. Peter Pace, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was asked to comment on remarks by Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., a Marine Corps veteran who has become a leading voice in Congress advocating an early withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq. Murtha told ABC News this week that if he were eligible to join the military he would not, nor would he expect others to join. ''That's damaging to recruiting,'' Pace said. ''It's damaging to morale of the troops who are deployed and it's damaging to the morale of their families who believe in what they are doing to...

Robert Jensen (rjensen@uts.cc.utexas.edu) is a journalism professor at the University of Texas at Austin. He is also the author of Citizens of the Empire: The Struggle to Claim Our Humanity. In an article written for The Austin American Statesman, Jensen recently claimed that “The United States has lost the war in Iraq, and that's a good thing.” While Jensen was careful to say that the loss of American lives is not to be celebrated, he insulted our soldiers deeply by saying that their deaths “haven't protected Americans or brought freedom to Iraqis.” Instead, he brushed off their service to our...

Predictably, many on the Left responded to my column, “Bring Back HUAC,” by accusing me of stifling dissent. I addressed these concerns in the second paragraph: Debate, protest and even conscientious objection to war are essential elements of our political system, which is why such activities are protected by our Constitution. Treason is taking up arms against our nation, or giving aid and comfort to our enemies. Sedition is actively encouraging acts of treason. Treasonous and seditious activities are illegal; they are not protected as free speech. I never expect liberals to debate me on what I actually said. These...

“The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not "insurgents" or "terrorists" or "The Enemy." They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win.” These are not the words of Al Jazeera, or the ravings of some fanatical Moslem Sheik. They are the words of Michael Moore, Oscar-winning filmmaker, best-selling author, and ostensibly an “American.” There is only one word which can be used to describe such a man: traitor. Based upon the success of his movies and the sales of his books, it’s fair to call Michael Moore the leading...

Despite the fact that Seattle, WA is known as a hotbed of liberalism, I was shocked to see an unprecedented display of contempt for our country and our troops on public display. In front of New Freeway Hall, a local leftist hangout, is a brazen display of Hate America posters the likes of which I have never seen. The most obnoxious poster in their display window reads "Victory to the Iraqi Resistance!. I took some photos of this and posted them on the web. If any of you know how to post the photos over here please feel free to...

Friends, I have never seen a head so far up a Presidential ass (pardon my Falluja) than the one I saw last night at the "news conference" given by George W. Bush. He's still talking about finding "weapons of mass destruction" -- this time on Saddam's "turkey farm." Turkey indeed. Clearly the White House believes there are enough idiots in the 17 swing states who will buy this. I think they are in for a rude awakening. I've been holed up for weeks in the editing room finishing my film ("Fahrenheit 911"). That's why you haven't heard from me lately....

WASHINGTON -- In a question-and-answer session before a Senate committee in 1971, John F. Kerry, who was a leading antiwar activist at the time, asserted that 200,000 Vietnamese per year were being "murdered by the United States of America" and said he had gone to the Paris and "talked with both delegations at the peace talks" and met with communist representatives.

You have to looke at this website about Kerry. I never read this before. It also has pictures. http://www.vietnamveteransagainstjohnkerry.com/

On a snowbound afternoon 955 kilometres north of where the U.S. Army says he should be, Private First Class Hinzman, Jeremy D., No. XXXXXXXX*, is sitting in the sunroom of the rambling old mansion owned by Toronto's pacifist Quakers. He is describing the chants he learned in basic training.

DURHAM, N.C. - Novelist Michael Peterson was convicted Friday of murdering his wife, whose body was found in a pool of blood at the bottom of a staircase in their home. Peterson, 59, remained motionless as the verdict was read and each juror asked if he or she agreed with it. With the verdict, he was automatically sentenced to life in prison without parole. Peterson, whose books include the 1990 Vietnam novel "A Time of War" and its 1995 sequel, "A Bitter Peace," was convicted of beating his second wife, Kathleen Peterson, in December 2001. Prosecutors said he may have...
