Add actor Danny Glover to the growing list of celebrity George W. Bush bashers.
The 'Lethal Weapon' star was in Brazil recently where he called George W. 'a racist' and blasted many of the Presidents policies.
'Yes he's racist,' Glover said in response to a question from a reporter from the Brazilian Magazine Isto E, according to our sources translation.
'We all knew that but the world is only finding it out now. As Texas Governor, Bush led a penitentiary system that executed more people than all of the US states toghter. And most of the people who died from the death penalty were Afro-Americans or Hispanics.'
Glover continued: 'Bush promoted a conservative program, designed to eliminate everything Americans have accomplished so far in matters of race and equality.'

He's a spokesman for MCI. Maybe a boycott is in order.

Glover is too busy sucking up to the world's worst dictators like Castro. A glance at Glover's support of every commie cause that comes down the pike pretty tells us where his politics "lie".

Thanks for the links. I just loved the lethal weapon series...I thought him and mel gibson had a great partnership so to speak. BUT...he had a "down with nra style of poster" in Lethal Weapon 4, and puts down Heston in part 3. The guy is a major activist..and how Gibson could allow that to be in the films just really shocked me.

Too Alpl here:
You guys need to read up on what is being said on other sites.

This site is getting to be more vehement, there is extreme anti bush sentiment (and anti US). I would like to see some more rebuttals from the US. This site is read by a lot of people so please, get out there and comment on this Canadian crappola.

Danny Glover should remain in Brazil. As much as I like some of the movies he was in, I refuse to watch them anymore. Sort of a vain boycott, but what the hell, it makes me feel better.
This guy is a traitor and race baiter.
If he's so concerned about his ancestry maybe he should be dumping his millions into helping the peoples of Africa. Racism is kept alive and well through guys like this.

Just fired off a note to MCI. Told them basically that I was disgusted with their choice of Danny Glover as a spokesperson. Told them I would never use their product again and would tell my fellow soldiers not to use their calling cards overseas either. Wonder what kind of reply I'll get back? Not getting my hopes up.

Wow, that's as ignorant a stance as I've heard in a while. Once again, a brave Hollywood star goes OUT OF COUNTRY to criticize the Bush Administration.

'Bush promoted a conservative program, designed to eliminate everything Americans have accomplished so far in matters of race and equality.' Will someone please ask these yahoos the obvious next question: "How"? He's like the college kids screaming that war with Iraq is all about oil, but if asked "how so?" wouldn't have a clue. They only can regurgitate baseless accusations and hope, like Hitler (or Clinton), that a lie repeated often enough will be taken for truth by those too lazy or stupid to ask questions. Unfortunately, the media have proven themselves just that stupid and lazy, case in point being Katie Couric this a.m. letting x42 claim that Bush would have pardoned Marc Rich if Clinton hadn't done it first.
As a reporter, I'm embarrassed to be part of this know-nothing, don't-care-about-truth fraternity of so-called journalists.
To: ewing
I guess it's President Bush's fault that he has to resort to hawking long distance which puts him in the same category as other hollywood legends such as Carrot-Top, Mr. T, and ALF.
Perhaps if he trys real hard he might be next in line for that coveted center position on Hollywood Squares.

"he had a "down with nra style of poster" in Lethal Weapon 4, and puts down Heston in part 3."
Glover needs to study the civil right movement a little closer before he bashes Heston. Charlton walked with Dr. King in Selma. And Mr. Heston was responsible for getting blacks into the trade unions that work in Hollywood. But I guess he's too busy going to communist countries like Brazil and Cuba and extolling their virtues to actually learn something.
