A quick translation of the form should suffice, shouldn't it? Krekar's english is way better than his Norwegian anyways...Not that strange considering he has spent most of his time in Iran and Iraq since hecame here as a UN-Quota refugee...

Anyways ask him about Wael.. Who is he, anyways?

Here's a translation of the words in the form:

Spørsmål til Mulla Krekar - Questions for Mullah Krekar

Ditt navn: - Your name Ditt bosted: - Your location

Din e-post adresse: -Your email address Spørsmålets overskrift: . The heading of your question

Ditt spørsmål til deltakeren: - Your question for the participant (Krekar)
(Trykk enter to ganger for nytt avsnitt. - Press enter twice for a new paragraph Ikke bruk HTML - Do not use HTML.)

Cheers.....

Not that any single line of truth is going to come from him tomorrow...

My question to you...... Why on earth if he is so dangerous is he walking free in Oslo? I think the Norwegian government would turn him in to the US in a second if Powell put some pressure on the issue...

I appreciate the translation.

Abu Wael is a "former" Mukhabarat operative who is also a member of Ansar al-Islam's shura or ruling council. According to Qassam Hussein Mohammed, a Mukhabarat operative currently in the custody of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Abu Wael is in fact still a serving operative, information which Collin Powell said the CIA has corroborated.

"My question to you...... Why on earth if he is so dangerous is he walking free in Oslo? I think the Norwegian government would turn him in to the US in a second if Powell put some pressure on the issue..."

We tried to extradite him when got busted in the Netherlands a little while back. As far as why he's still walking the streets, the same could also be asked (and rightly so) of Abu Hamza and Omar Bakri in the UK.

What do you think he meant when he said that we're afraid to fight city wars? <

Al Qaeda knows we prefer not to strike civilians, whether ours or msulim, so al Qaeda is telling their people to take shelter among civilians and fight within populated areas.

They also knows about Mogadishu- since they planned part of it. So they believe that engaging us in similar situations is to their advantage, since they accomplished their goal of getting us out of Somalia when Clinton turned tail there and ran. That was one of the things bin Laden cited as a reason for feeling confident about waging war on the US.

Hussein similarly used Vietnam as his reason to think he could win over the US. Note that his propaganda is aimed primarily at the west and America and reliance on peace activists is very similar to what we saw in Vietnam, whereas bin Laden's propaganda is aimed at muslims, not at Americans. Each of them thinks of a different US Waterloo as their hope and behave accordingly.

Bin Laden could also be referring to house to house fighting in Baghdad, but I really don't think the material on the tape is that new, but then, it's hard to say without seeing the whole context. Even then he rambles, so who knows.

Germany and the USSR signed a Treaty of Nonaggression in 1939, which isn't the same as an military alliance.

ARTICLE I
Both High Contracting Parties obligate, themselves to desist from any act of violence, any aggressive action, and any attack on each other, either individually or jointly with other powers.

ARTICLE II
Should one of the High Contracting Parties become the object of belligerent action by a third power, the other High Contracting Party shall in no manner lend its support to this third power.

Needless to say it all ended in 1942...

Your proof fails. Secretary Powell identified an Al-Qaeda network run by Zarqawi, a senior operative who fled from Afghanistan to Iraq. He runs cells in several countries. Zarqawi was allowed to stay in an area controlled by Ansar al Islam, a radical group that is not Al Qaeda, but cooperates with them. Ansar has been fighting lately with the Kurds and in particular PUK, not Saddam's troops. Zarqawi was believed to be producing poisons at the location near Khumal, a weapon suitable for terror but not warfare. Ricin, one of his specialties, was seized from a cell operating in London. Ansar gave the press a tour of the facility, which was sanitized.

And you must have missed this from Secretary Powell's presentation:

"Zarqawi's activities are not confined to this small corner of north east Iraq. He traveled to Baghdad in May 2002 for medical treatment, staying in the capital of Iraq for two months while he recuperated to fight another day.

During this stay, nearly two dozen extremists converged on Baghdad and established a base of operations there. These Al Qaida affiliates, based in Baghdad, now coordinate the movement of people, money and supplies into and throughout Iraq for his network, and they've now been operating freely in the capital for more than eight months."

And this:

"Going back to the early and mid-1990s, when bin Laden was based in Sudan, an Al Qaida source tells us that Saddam and bin Laden reached an understanding that Al Qaida would no longer support activities against Baghdad. Early Al Qaida ties were forged by secret, high-level intelligence service contacts with Al Qaida, secret Iraqi intelligence high-level contacts with Al Qaida."

So, you're wrong on multiple counts. Al Qaeda is not trying to overthrow Saddam; they are cooperating with him. Ansar is not producing chemical weapons to overthrow Saddam, they allowed Zarqawi to operate a poisons lab in their territory for a time. Although Ansar would like to replace Saddam with a Taliban-type state, they've been fighting lately not with Saddam's troops, but with our Kurdish allies.

The fact that Ansar cooperates with Zarqawi and Al Qaeda who cooperate with Saddam illustrates the old maxim "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" is alive and well in the Middle East, despite your claims to the contrary.

Why don't you concede Powell and Tenet and the State Department and CIA might know more about what's happening in Iraq than you?

Thanks for the info... I also did a quick search on the net just now for Wael, and I remember hearing about him before.. There seems to be contradictory reports about him so I posted a question for Krekar if he could clear up the matter...

Interesting to see if he actually answers that question tomorrow :-)

Anyways, have a good one and take care. It's getting late in Oslo.

"Although you did not mention a specific call for attack against the United States, I'd like to know where you stand on this.

Of course he will try to attack the US, our interests or our allies and I think the government might have a good idea where.

It divided up Eastern Europe. And accomplishing the division required military action, in concert.

Sounds like an alliance to me.

Where do you think Germany got the oil for its war machine from, prior to 6/22/41?

Is that right? I was just wondering about that the other day. Did the axis get any oil at all from the middle east? Were they allied with the ME countries of the time?
