Although they have been doing so stealthily, now Hatch has recognized that they are filibustering.

And ... you would be right!!
I saw on TV or read at FR that there were more than a couple of them during the x42 years. They had the same or less experience as Estrada when they were appointed to the bench.
Sooooo, as usual, this is a political stunt by Hitlery because of her HATE for the Bush admin. She's leading the dems right over the cliff - which cannot be soon enough for me.

but I warn all on this forum against attacking the Left as racist for not approving this nominationI couldn't disagree more.
The Hispanic vote is very much up for grabs and if the Republicans let this opportunity pass to paint the scumbag Democrats as anti-Hispanic, then they are fools. The scumbags MUST be beaten over the head with this anti-Hispanic filibuster until they are weeping and gnashing their teeth and squealing like pigs.

But ... the dems are not opposed to Estrada on idealogical grounds.
The dems are opposed to Estrada because he submitted a document to the USSC during Bush v. Gore.
You got it! This whole thing is RETRIBUTION for his actions.
The dems are being petty and childish!

You are absolutly right!
The dims are counting on the Republicans
to act in the same way when Lott was SML.
It is time to beat them at there own game.
We have facts on our side, and they have lies.
We cannot let these lies go unanswered!!!

Partly right - the cases and memoranda are about cases which he worked on while he worked for the Solicitor General's Office. The Solicitor General is the law office which defends the U.S. Govt.
Because Estrada presented documents before the USSC during Bush v. Gore, I'm quite sure the dems would like to get a look at the notes and memoranda which was used for that case. I believe that's their real goal.
And ... it has nothing to do with him being Hispanic.

THIS IS SUCH A SHAMELESS, RAW POWER PLAY . . . the demoslugpoops ought to crawl in a hole and stay there just for even thinking of pulling such stunts.

Thanks for the LULAC info. Good for them! The VLWC is
really vast...think Chavez, Castro, FARC, Dem. Hispanic Caucus - the far left hispanic wing of the party. We know that the Dems. are cowards and wouldn't be doing this without the certainty that they had the Commie vote and media support.
They underestimate the American people!
Miguel must be a member of the VRWC:
Is it any wonder Hillary and co. are worried? Imagine, a judge judging the left and the right by the same standards!

Well I figure she will eventually hit that wall when no one wants to be associated with her
But the more I think about it, you may be right .. she will still blame someone else for it

Kennedy complaining again about Estrada's "hot Latin temper!" What is an Irishman doing complaining about anyone's temper?

Does it seem to anyone else that we may be witnessing the breakdown of our Republic, in very slow motion? The Constitution provides a remedy for filibusters like this one: recess appointments.
