>>FYI, living down in the Keys of Florida, we are always ready to be "without" for up to a week just in case the "big one" hits.<<
Same thing in Southern California, but a diferent "big one." I live 3 miles from the epicenter of the Northridge quake -- something no one could ever forget or want to experience again!!
We got all the stuff we need -- flashlights, emergency lighting, potable water, canned and dried food, BEER, the whole bit.

"IF the Gov't knows something, I wish that they would just tell us."
The problem with the government telling us everything they know is that they would also be telling the terrorists what they know -- best to let the terrorists guess. The government has told us that we need to prepare. We have been given the instructions through government agencies.
I will be praying for those who are on the front lines of this war both here and abroad. I'm praying for our troops so hard -- they face challenges...
May God watch over us all and protect us from those who wish to destroy us and our way of life.

Can you imagine the political reaction if a few million people had to sit in cold basements for a few days, waiting for the all-clear?

Civilization as we know it is held together by a fine mix of Duct Tape and WD-40. Maybe MacGyver should be the head of Homeland Security.

Everybody is watching far too much TV and letting the likes of Fox set the tempo of their lives. Many other countries have lived with terrorism for years and learned the only answer is to go about their regular business every day and ignore the dramatism. The Brits have lived through terrorism and the occasional bombing funded by our fellow Americans (Noraid/Boston-Irish catholic scum)for years. If we just get used to it, we wouldn't have to put up with taunting from Osama Bin Dead sound-alikes until Fox has a news alert to let us know its all over.

"Someone PLEASE say something to calm my nerves??!!"
Have faith. We are a strong people. This country has gone through great struggles before. I live and work in the DC area. We will go on working and living as normally as we possibly can under the circumstances. I refuse to cower to those animals. We have made plans as a family on what we will do when the inevitable occurs. We are a family of faith -- we know this time on earth is short and that no one will get out of life alive -- death will come to us all whether tomorrow or 50 years from now. In the meantime, we plan on l i v i n g ! ! ! !
Stay armed. Stay safe everyone.

"Ok I have a stupid question .. why would you use a filter for gasoline?" I just said gasoline because I've done it before, it was a rusty can with flakes, so I filtered it with a coffee filter, worked great. It was after a hurricane and I was filling the gas tank on my generator. The point is you can use them for most anything.

It's 11:30pm. Do you know where your duct tape is?
BTW, what thickness plastic sheeting do you recommend?

Does it make you want to buy some duct tape and plastic sheeting? What self-respecting American male dosen't already have duct tape and plastic on hand? If you can't fix it with duct tape it can't be fixed.
