Although they didn't publish a timeline with this story, it does seem to make it clear there was continuing receipt of telemetry data after communications were lost with the crew. This means there was still enough structural integrity for the computers and some sensors to be working. Which leads to the unavoidable thought that the crew cabin was still instact, and they may very well have been aware in those last couple of minutes that their vehicle was coming apart around them.

I know how to link photos, but not PowerPoint slides. Maybe someone else can help.

You have to put the file on a website, then post the link address. Lots of folks don't have power point either, it should be converted to a more standard format. Like flash.
Here's a Columbia Tribute that is already online, nice pictures too!

I was one of the *many* Dallasites who heard it. Quite loud; it rattled windows.

it does seem to make it clear there was continuing receipt of telemetry data after communications were lost with the crew. I heard one report (on the radio, unverified, and not seen since) that there was a second or more of open mike, with no crew sounds, before the signal was cut off.

One network had a former shuttle astronaut doing instant analysis. The dumb newsbabe said something along the lines of "So they never knew what hit them?" and he replied that the hope was that there would be a crew-cabin breach that would make survival instantly impossible, but... implying he though the end was not as quick as others might think.
