Some Maine Teachers Traumatizing Students of Deployed Soldiers
WABI- TV Bangor Maine | February 21, 2003 | 6 PM News

Posted on 02/23/2003 9:02:29 AM PST by bogeybob

WABI TV reported Friday that the Maine National Guard Family Assistance Center has received about 30 complaints from children of deployed soldiers concerning Principals, Teachers and Guidance Counselors reportedly demeaning the role of their deployed parent. Some children involved are 7 to 9 years of age.

Here is a letter written to a friend of mine from the Maine Army National Guard:

"Thank you for your interest on this most troubling matter. Our Family Assistance Centers have reported cases from Aroostook County to Southern Maine. We are reluctant to give out specific schools and the individuals involved in the interest of giving the education community a chance to address the problem itself. Also, parents wanted the opportunity to pursue the issue through their local school boards first.

In all, we have over thirty complaints that name schools and individual principals, teachers and guidance counselors. If one considers that these complaints come from just the parents who attended our briefings and only from children who told their parents, we are concerned that the problem may be more widespread than we know.

We are recording the complaints, and I will personally visit these educators to express our concern as a professional organization and ask for their cooperation.

Ultimately, our main concern and first responsibility is the safety of our children during these uncertain times. Maine has a core of dedicated and professional educators, but we will challenge any individual who places our children at risk due to their own political ideologies."

"I am against the impending war in Iraq unless the U.S. obtains broad international support. That includes France, Germany, Russia and China. Oh, and proof of WMD's would help. Even then, I would not support the war (then again, who does), but would pray for the men and women who serve our country bravely every day (and I'm not talking about those idiots in Congress and the White House)."

Guess that about answers " What Smells".

What a fabulous letter, Uncle Jacque!

I sent an e-mail and a link to this thread to the (I believe) quartermaster of the Maine State VFW and got this sarcastic response:

"When names places any other info aren't given it is called gossip......

later..

Nice, huh? I guess they didn't even bother to click on any of the links or do any research.

I sent some letters out to the media--as I had only heard some rumors on this story. With the number of comments I have seen here, I have forwarded it on to those that might push to get the WHOLE STORY!

I would not put it pass the LW scumbag 'teachers' to tell little kids that their military parents are killers and are going to kill babies.

I will NOT comment on anyone's spelling or grammar, this is a vey series situation! It's HUGH! ;o)

I'm not from ME, so I don't know about your US Reps., I just know y'all have two RINO Senators. I'm in MA and it's ALL DEMS, except for our new Gov. and he's somewhat of a RINO, or at least he dressed up that way for the election.

The quartermaster is probably a Baldacci Democrat. They have infected the entire infrastructure.

This kind of ANTI AMERICAN propoganda is not just in Maine...

Van raises an excellent point...Maine isn't the ONLY state where this propoganda is being spread. Perhaps parents should question their children to see EXACTLY what kind of BS their teachers are tossing around the classroom nowadays.

Sadly, if your church belongs to the National Council of Churches, the behavior isn't at all surprising. And if true, the only solution is to find another church that does not tow the NCC line.

Our mainline churches have been infiltrated by leftists. It's up to us to make sure the NCC can't reach our children because the NEA is doing the same - Monday through Friday .

When my niece attended public school, her mother would question her every day after school about what went on, who said what, how did the teacher respond, what did your teacher say about families and who comprised a family, etc., etc.

Then my sister-in-law (who at one time was all for public education, got a great education in her Baltimore public school, and became a teacher because she so admired her public school teachers), decided to volunteer in my niece's public school. What an eye-opener and what a few years can do.

My sister-in-law (who is married to my brother who is a Presbyterian minister)now teaches in the same Catholic grammar school their daughter attends.

My niece just got accepted to a good Catholic girls high school in the Baltimore area. Public schools weren't a consideration.
