Former Rep. Cynthia McKinney, D-Ga., who was given $2,000. She was defeated last fall and did not immediately return a call Monday. Just wanted that repeated. Bump.

Abdullah Al Arian, son of indicted terrorist fundraiser Sami Al Arian, is an intern in Bonior's office.
Suhail Khan, son of the late Mahboob Khan (a California cleric at whose mosque Ayman Al Zawahiri raised money for Al Qaeda in 1995), was on Campbell's congressional staff, was campaign spokesman for Campbell's unsuccessful Senatorial run in 2000, and later served in the Bush White House as the aide in charge of Muslim Outreach.

O'Reilly Factor tonight... Sami Al-Arian's son worked for David Bonior. Hillary Clinton is the person who first invited Sami Al-Arian to the White House.

"I find this very, very strange," Bonior said Thursday. "I just find this very hard to believe."
Bonior said that he and Al-Arian had worked against the government's use of secret evidence in the antiterror campaign.
Bonior said Al-Arian and his family "care very deeply about civil rights and civil liberty."
Al-Arian was first targeted by a federal probe in 1995 when a USF think tank he founded was raided by federal agents and accused of being a front group for terrorism. Al-Arian has vehemently denied any ties to terrorists, but after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, USF placed the computer engineering professor on forced leave and banned him from campus, located in Tampa, for outspoken, inflammatory support for Palestinian causes.
In 1999, Bonior became a champion of Arab-American rights at USF and in the Tampa area after Al-Arian's brother, Mazen Al-Najjar, was held by federal authorities on "secret evidence" though he was never charged with a crime. Al-Najjar was also suspected of terrorist connections.
Bonior hired Al-Arian's son, Abdullah, in 2001 as an intern in his Capitol Hill office.
Bonior spokesman Ed Bruley said Bonior is aware of the controversy surrounding Al-Arian.
"I know of Mr. Al-Arian, and I know of the accusations but it is just that - accusations," Bruley said. "We are not going to respond to these accusations."
Terrorism expert Steven Emerson told a Congressional committee in 1998 that the think tank and charity served as the "effective command and control center of the Islamic Jihad in the United States."
Conferences organized by the think tank drew appearances from both known and suspected terrorists, including Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, who was convicted in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
Federal agents also suspect Al-Arian of having ties to Osama bin Laden, whose terrorist network al-Qaida is believed to be responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks. According to the Tampa Tribune, Al-Arian arranged an interview between bin Laden and ABC News in 1998.
In a video of an anti-Israel protest outside the White House on Oct. 28, 2000, Alamoudi voices support for Hamas and Hezbollah. Alamoudi roused the crowd by saying the New York media had labeled him as a supporter of Hamas, which has taken responsibility for attacks on Israeli citizens.

More on that:
AMC applauds Representative Bonior on his tireless dedication and effort in the case of Dr. Al-Najjar and others who have been victims of this heinous policy. Dr. Yahya Basha, AMC President, accompanied Mr. Bonior on a visit to Dr. Al-Najjar on February 22,1999 making him the first policy maker to meet with the secret evidence victim. He teamed up with Representative Tom Campbell (R-CA) to introduce and diligently fight to pass H.R. 2121, the Secret Evidence Repeal Act of 1999 and subsequently launched a campaign against the use of secret evidence.
The fruition of the campaign for Dr. Al-Najjar's release came as a result of the dedication of Dr. Sami Al-Arian, of the Tampa Bay Coalition for Peace and Justice and Mazen's brother-in-law; The National Coalition to Protect Political Freedom (NCPPF); and his legal team led Prof. David Cole of Georgetown University, Nancy Chang of the Center for Constitutional Rights, Joe Hohenstein of the Nationalities Service Center, and Martin Schwartz of Tampa who have worked so diligently for his release.
"Thank God Almighty! Mazen is free at last!" said Aly Abuzaakouk, AMC Executive Director. "We thank the members of our community for their relentless grassroots efforts against secret evidence. It is now time to work on freeing the remainder of the victims being held under its premise and toward ensuring that the Secret Evidence Repeal Act is passed immediately in the 107th Congress. President Elect Bush has spoken out against the practice and we must work to ensure that he keeps his promise to sign the bill."

Bonior Denounces "Hateful Prejudice" Against Muslims and Arabs
WASHINGTON, Sept 13 (IslamOnline)
The student, Abdullah al-Arian, is the son of Sami al-Arian, a University of South Florida professor and outspoken critic of the use of secret evidence. Sami al-Arian's brother-in-law, Mazen al-Najjar, was detained for three years under secret evidence.
When Abdullah was "escorted" out of the White House without any explanation - though apologies were later offered from the president and the Secret Service - Muslim leaders walked out as well, and Bonior expressed his outrage at the incident.
A New York Times article quoted Bonior's statement after the incident: "There have been too many instances where Muslims have been stopped, harassed or discriminated against for no apparent reason. This happens in airports, on our highways, and now we see it happens in the [George W.] Bush White House."
