Hero worship: Reality TV that's worthy of respect (Freeper MUST-SEE TV)
Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel ^ | February 27, 2003 | Tom Jicha

Oh well -- sleeping together rarely connotes a shared good night's rest.

It might seem unlikely anything could give the reality genre a good name at this point. However, Profiles From the Front Line is an exception. It really is real, without embellishments or contrivances. The six-episode series, shot in the aftermath of the U.S. incursion into Afghanistan post-9/11, spotlights genuine bravery and heart-stopping survival situations. Tension is palpable and unrelenting. There are deaths.

This will be excellent. I heard the producer talking about it last night on Mr. KABC show last night. All the footage is raw, no setups, no censorship from the Pentagon. This will wash Dan Lather and his Hussy right out of my hair.

Did you catch the "HOW DARE THEY!" speech by the Sergeant at the beginning of the show? I hope they replay that!

Yeah. Actually he's a colonel. Those SOF guys are really impressive. Remember after the invasion of Afghanistan they were traveling cross country on horses!

You missed an INCREDIBLE speech by a Sergeant (according to the article but a Freeper says he is a Colonel) to the troops. This is the quote: "How dare they fly an aircraft into the Pentagon. How dare they fly an aircraft into the World Trade Center. How dare they change the lives of Americans."

You had to HEAR it!

He was identified on screen as a colonel.

As someone who commanded a company of Marines in RVN I'm always amazed that we can find enough people to make the kind of sacrifice that is required. No other country in history has had such a group of dedicated patriots, and no country in history has sacrificed as much treasure to make sure they have the best equipment and support possible.

Semper fi!
