We can just boycott all their work and let the fact that nothing they do makes money, speak for itself.

Umm, good luck with that. Still, though, this blacklist stuff is BS. Won't happen.

They're asking for it. We need one of our great organizer-FReepers to get the ball rolling.

Can they get anymore self absorbed than this? Does the SAG really think Hollywood is oppressed and about to be sent to a Gulag?

The wonderful Charlton Heston once served as president of the Screen Actors Guild--many years ago.

Those were the good old days of Hollywood, before it was controlled by spoiled brat limousine leftists, most of whom are mentally ill, divorced five times, and/or are hooked on drugs.

Cary Grant? Really? Outstanding!!

I must admit, I've been in love with my hero Chuck Heston since I was 11 years old, after the first time I watched Ben Hur. TMC played Ben Hur over the weekend--Chuck was/is ONE FINE HUNKAMAN , hubba hubba!!!

Just love watching the hollyweenies self-destruct.

Amen to that! :)

While I am totally opposed to the idea of a blacklist of any kind, I am even more supportive of Americans voting with their feet when these clowns in Hollywood start talking trash about the Land of the Free. Clooney, Sheen, Penn et al saw the last of my money when they took up the cause of Hussein.

All told, I don't believe there is actually a blacklist. In fact, I think we should require the same sort of stringent proof of a blacklist that these Leftist dolts require of us in proving Saddam a threat!

In the final analysis, I would not be the least bit surprised to learn that the alleged "blacklist" is nothing more than Sheen attempting to pre-empt popular fallout for his anti-American activities. (Wow...the Libs engaging in pre-emptive action while condemning the U.S. for doing as much. Will the hypocrisy never end?)

"Even a hint of the blacklist must never again be tolerated in this nation," the statement added.

The reference was to the Hollywood blacklist of the 1950s

Of course it referred to the outing of communists in Hollywood. Talk of "the blacklist" never includes the blacklisting of "scab" actors who cross picket lines (which went on long before the 1950s RED blacklist and continues to this day).

By the way, communists were subverting our entertainment industry to promote their message and Uncle Joe Stalin was not a nice guy by any stretch. Useful idiots one and all.

Oh, please! No one is suggesting that these whiners "lose their right to work." All we are doing is excercising our rights as consumers. The reason we won't watch their movies/TV shows is because WE DON'T WANT TO. For whatever reason - poor entertainment quality, personal convictions, whatever - we don't have to patronize them IF WE DON'T WANT TO.

Ain't America great!

"...but its still OK to blacklist anyone who is Conservative!

You mean like the leftist elite did to Gerald McRainy and his wife? Or like what they would do to Mel Gibson if he couldn't produce his own movies. Anybody want to and to the list that the libeals have already blacklisted?

From the petition:

We the undersigned American Citizens stand against Wealthy Hollywood Celebrities abusing their status to speak for us.

We do not believe that they have a clear understanding of how we live, what we fear, and what we support. We believe that celebrities Martin Sheen, Mike Farrell, Tim Robbins, Rob Reiner, Barbara Streisand, and others with them are using their celebrity to interfere with the defense of our country.

We believe that Hollywood Celebrities use their wealth to make their own personal issues known while Americans would never have the resources to speak out in this manner.

We support President Bush in his efforts to defend our homeland, to defend democracy, and to take any measures to end the threat of terrorism. We do not claim to know more than anyone, especially President Bush.

We elect a President who we can trust to make proper decisions based on facts available to him and not available to the rest of us. This is one reason trustworthiness and character is important in the people we elect into office.

War is not easy, there are many before us who sacrificed their lives for freedom and if supporting citizens in other countries who cry out for democracy and freedom aids in the war against terrorism we support it.

This Statement and its signatures will be published publicly and or delivered to Martin Sheen and Mike Farrell.

By signing the petition you agree with this statement. If you disagree head over to the Forum.

Maybe Rob Reiner will advocate a tax on violent movies like Gangs of New York. The sums collected could be distributed by a "committee" to work on reducing violence in America. How about $5 a ducat? Sheesh - thats less than a cup of coffee.

So did Ronald Reagan. The current SAG President Milissa Gilbert is a conservative too.
