Here is my reply to the SAG:
I read your response to the so-called "blacklisting" of anti-war celebrities for exercising their freedom of speech.
I think you must still be living in the McCarthy era.
We do not live in a 20th Century world. We live in 2003. No longer are there 3 channels watch, I have over 500. No longer is there one newspaper, I get over 10 personally. No longer are there 50 websites (as was when Clinton was elected) there are over 50 million. There are many ways to get information. Again I say, we do not live in the 20th century.
McCarthy went to far with his push and the use of Government to silence your voice. The greatness in this country is that you have the freedom to voice your opinion. That does not make it correct. I have the right to voice my opinion. You may not think that is correct. But I know I have formed my opinion based on the same information you have. Your vote and voice carries the same weight as mine. What a great Country!
In conclusion, you have the freedom to voice your opinion of War in Iraq. I also have the same freedom to change the channel. Thank you, TNDarlin

What "right" to work? You got me because in a right to work state you don't have to belong to a union, like the actors' union, to work.
Out in Hollywood you will get blacklisted if you work on non-union productions or hire people who aren't in the union.

Historically every major war will produce a new generation of actors/actresses. Example WWII (John Wayne), Post Vietnam (Stallone, Schwarzennager)and now post 9/11 (TBD). The ones who expouse left wing garbage are on their way out. We have not found our new generation of action heroes yet, but they are out there. The first agent, actor and studio figures this out, they will make tons of money in the post 9/11 era.

... actors and actresses are upset that so many reality shows have gained popularity putting them out of work! I heard that "Friends" production costs are on the order of $11M/hour v. $.5M for reality shows. ABTW, there are
something like 37 new reality shows in the works.
Personally, I'm going through an old time radio show fad right now. I hope my interest lasts through the reality show fad.

LOL! Right. Cary Grant is my favorite Hollywood Republican. Don't worry- W is still my main man!! LOL!

To hell with them, blacklisted or otherwise they won't starve.
It's interesting watching them deal with the backlash though, isn't it?
To: EggsAckley
I guess the Hollywood morons don't know the difference between the public boycotting them and them blacklisting each other.
And they want us to listen to their jabber regarding foriegn policy?

This is more Martin Sheen communist confabulation.
"Martin Sheen recently said top executives at NBC had "let it be known they're very uncomfortable" with his outspoken opposition to war with Iraq."
Think about it. This lying little man has no occasion to talk to NBC executives. He is talent. Executives generally would speak to the producers of a series- that's where things get done. Sheen is acting the part of a man targeted for his moral stand. An unbelievable performance.

Not going to the movies is a satisfactory 'blacklisting' for me. I'll vote with my wallet, and I typically wouldn't give five cents to see some rotten Hollywood drivel.

I read that Cary Grant was a supporter of President Reagan.

I highly doubt Melissa Gilbert is conservative or Republican. Have you ever heard her talk about politics? Though now she's signed her name on to this anti-war against Iraq ad. That's a sign. Michael Landon was conservative though.
