Yeah, isn't that something! I've been in love with Cary Grant since I was about 12 (which was, ironically, about the time he died :-( ) but I just recently really started looking into his filmography. He was an amazing actor, and an amazing person. I thought he might've been a Pubbie since he introduced Betty Ford at the 1976 RNC, but I wasn't 100% sure. Then this week I picked up a FANTASTIC book called "Evenings with Cary Grant", which is his life story told through his words and those of his friends. A fantastic book--sanctioned by his wife and daughter and put together by his friend and agent. He basically had the opinon that he wasn't in the political world- he was an actor- and didn't feel it was HIS PLACE TO COMMENT ON POLITICS. How refreshing-(although I wish he had said more) I wish today's liberal actors felt the same!!!!!

Of course, he's the greatest gentleman ever so I shouldn't be surprised that he was of that opinion, and since 98% of today's actors are NOT gentlemen I shouldn't be surprised at their behavior either.

Charlton Hestson, huh?? You know, sitting here thinking about it, I don't think I've ever seen any of his films!!! I will keep an eye out for Ben Hur and try to catch it next time around. :-D

It doesn't matter whether Hollywood itself blacklists its lefties, because it can't prevent its customers from just boycotting their films.

Sheen, who plays the president on the "The West Wing," said the network fears his position will hurt the show. An NBC spokeswoman responded that network executives have expressed no such concerns.

That's not blacklisting, Sheen, that's a reluctance to keep employees who have such offensive loud mouths that they drive away customers.

Catch "Ben Hur" on TMC--they'll be showing it several times between now and Easter. Ben Hur is Chuck at his finest--hubba hubba.

You should also try reading his autobiography "In the Arena." It's beautifully written (by him, not a ghost writer). After 53 years of marriage, he still calls his wife Lydia "my girl" and speaks of her with great love in every word.

During WW2 Hollywood was making lots and lots of light war films, as well as celebrities going overseas to cheer up the soldiers. This new generation is disgusting.

Glenn claims he is still staying away from "R" rated movies, but that he is at times tempted.

I went to the SAG site hoping to find an email addy. I was going to ask why they didn't also mention not blacklisting those that do support the war. I didn't find one.

As for Martin Sheen...his show was down in ratings before the Iraq war talk had really heated up. He's just looking for an excuse to blame the poor ratings on. Gotta love those libs...they are sooo good at deflection.

Melissa Gilbert is a "conservative?" Really? Based on what? I have a hard time believing anyone other than Mao Tse Tung would have a chance getting elected president of SAG.

Everyone can start the "Boycott" by refusing to watch the Oscars.

I've given up on 90% of them, but here is a dilemna -- I like Mel Gibson, but can't stand Danny Glover's stupidity/liberalism.

You mean like the leftist elite did to Gerald McRainy and his wife? Or like what they would do to Mel Gibson if he couldn't produce his own movies. Anybody want to and to the list that the libeals have already blacklisted?

How many dramatic roles has Tom Selleck gotten since he did those ads for the National Review back in the mid to late 1980's? Oh, by the way, Cary Grant, who was English, gave his entire paycheck for the Philidelphia Story to the British War effort in 1940. Somehow I doubt that had Sean Penn gotten that role he was looking for, he would have been willing to dedicate his check to his beloved peace effort.

Um these clowns still have a right to work no matter how crappy they are. They want to talk like politicians, then they can be responded to like politicians...The consuming public can be fickle and vote with their wallets, something great about America. These clowns may have to move to another more liberal country like France to stay in their chosen field of acting....kind of fitting as they are acting like crybabies....

"Even a hint of the blacklist must never again be tolerated in this nation," Ithe statement added.

The Screen Actor Guild actually thinks for the Entire Nation now. Communism isn't a positive thing.Socialism isn't a positive thing. It's too bad most of Hollywood is filled with Sympathetic Socialists that pose as Leftists. The fact they made such an announcement is really laughable.
