Clinton Flack to Rush: Shut Up About Bin Laden Deal and Broaddrick Rape
NewsMax.com ^ | 3/07/03 | Carl Limbacher and NewsMax.com Staff

Former Clinton press secretary Joe Lockhart angrily defended his old boss yesterday against a 1978 rape allegation and charges that he blew a deal for Osama bin Laden's arrest, after talk radio host Rush Limbaugh suggested the ex-president should be asked about the two scandals during upcoming appearances on CBS's "60 Minutes."

"Bill Clinton won't talk about the stuff the American people really want to know. He's not going to address Juanita Broaddrick or giving the North Koreans two nuclear reactors to play with or rejecting three offers to take custody of bin Laden," Limbaugh said yesterday.

Bristling over the remarks, Lockhart told the Washington Post that the nation's top rated radio talker should "keep his mouth shut."

The ex-press secretary then described Clinton's reported million-dollar "60 Minutes" contract as "just one way to continue being part of the public service system."

Clinton has never denied a rape allegation by Arkansas businesswoman Juanita Broaddrick, who told the Wall Street Journal in Feb. 1999 that he brutally assaulted her in a Little Rock hotel room while he was Arkansas attorney general.

He was asked about Broaddrick's charges just once, in March 1999, and told ABC News reporter Sam Donaldson, "There's been a statement made by my attorney. He speaks for me. I think he spoke quite clearly."

No reporter has ever asked the ex-president about his Feb. 2002 confession that he personally turned down a deal for Osama bin Laden's extradition to the U.S. in 1996.

"We'd been hearing that the Sudanese wanted America to start meeting with them again," Clinton told New York's Long Island Association. "They released him. At the time, 1996, he had committed no crime against America so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him, though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America."

Hear the bombshell bin Laden admission that Clinton won't discuss on "60 Minutes."

This is going to be good and keep us busy. Now we have not one - but two wars to follow.

Saddam and the bent one...Those two make a good pair. Both know a lot about lying and deceit.

""Former Clinton spokesman Joe Lockhart said that Limbaugh should "keep his mouth shut""

Sounds like a threat of physical harm to me. Hmmm. Calling all prosecutors. RICO invoked?

CBS could replace Bob with, say ... Ann Coulter?

Here are a few others I'd like to see Slick debate:

Bob Dornan
Pat Buchanan
Peggy Noonan
George Will
Newt Gingrich
G. Gordon Liddy
Alan Keyes

It sounds as if we should start calling Lockhart "Joe Blow," if you get my meaning.

Maybe when the Clintons keep theirs' shut and go away....of course we all know that's NEVER going to happen.

NEVER. Bubba has really lowered the standard for post-presidential demeanor IMO.

I will have to catch the replay. I was just listening to him taking on the whiney little idiot girl who thinks that we need to take the money that is getting spent on the war and put it into education so we can produce more liberal mental midgets.

I don't recall Bill Clinton responding to NewsMax and Sean Hannity when they exposed these FACTS. It was Mansour Ijaz, a former Clinton donor and supporter, who offered the deal, and he's been forthright with the information. No one the "mainstream" seemed to notice. (Kind of like how they ignored the transfer of technology to China, and other Clinton crimes.)

"Bubba has really lowered the standard for post-presidential demeanor"

Not to mention the standard for acceptable tolerable HUMAN behavior.

There is no need to embellish what these idiots are saying about Rush...The TRUTH (Something NewsMax is not too familiar with) is plenty.

Actually, it was NewsMax who dug up the cassette tape with Bill Clinton's own admission of guilt in not accepting the extradition of Bin Laden in '96. Without NewsMax, this issue would only be speculation and rumor!

Clinton is sooooooo lame. Even lamer than CBS, but it's close. Thanks for the info:

According to sources in both the CBS News and Entertainment Divisions, Clinton would only sign the deal if he was paired with Dole, and CBS willingly caved.

As I advocated earlier, I recommend anyone watching 60 Minutes tune out...
