Democrats shifting on Iraq resolution

March 6 — In a significant change in the dynamics of the debate over Iraq, Democrats such as Sen. Tom Daschle who voted for last October’s use-of-force resolution on Iraq are now leading the opposition to President Bush’s policy, arguing that conditions have changed since they cast their votes. Daschle charged Thursday that Bush had failed to build international support for a war to oust Saddam Hussein.

DASCHLE SAID last October he was backing Bush because “Saddam Hussein represents a real threat” and “it is important for America to speak with one voice at this critical moment.” That support has has been the dominant issue in scrimmaging among contenders for the 2004 Democratic presidential nomination. Former Vermont governor Howard Dean has vaulted to prominence among the contenders by attacking Daschle, Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, Rep. Dick Gephardt of Missouri and other Democrats for voting for the resolution.

Here we go again. The Democrats in Congress are trying to change the rules again. I guess Dashole thinks his signature on a document means bupkis. I'm sure the Bank that holds his mortgage is thrilled.

Hmmm... maybe this means Daschole is thinking of a Presidential bid. Too bad for him Sharpton is so far ahead in the polls, lol...

It's interesting to observe Mr Daschle aligning with the marxist "anti-war" protestors.

Once again Democrats show that they do not vote on principles. One thinks they will soon rebel against voting - calling it a form of oppression.

In a poll last month of those “core Democrats” who said they are “very likely” to vote in the 2004 presidential primaries, two-thirds opposed using force against Iraq.

And 58 percent of such “core Democrats” said they agreed with the view that Bush is considering attacking Iraq because his administration “wants control of Iraq’s oil.”

The Democrat's motto, "It's never too late for treason."

It's interesting though that if you add the 42% of dems who don't think this a war for oil to the remaining population, that suggests 80% of the US population does not think this is a war for oil.

Amazing how MSNBC doesn't dig that statistic out of the story, though, isn't it?

One more reason to hope the Senate finds it impossible to conduct any business because of the Dems' filibuster into the next millenium.

Just remember a few things, and please excuse the rant:

The RATS have no honor.
They hate America.
Laws mean nothing to them.
Their word means nothing.

This shouldn't be a surprise. Just like with everthing else, they don't ever take a stance on anything, they just lick their finger, stick it in the air and say "Hmm... well the wind is blowing in this direction right now."

To GWB:

Look, the world isn't going to go along with us this time, that's fine, like you said last night, you will protect us at all costs... LET'S ROLL!

Daschle and all the other Dems are terrified that this was is going to be short and successful, and that President Bush will win the 2004 election in a landslide.

They hate the fact that Americans are mobilizing and rallying behind the President to counter the anti-war protests.

Did you notice that vein on Daschle's right temple last night? Looks like it's ready to pop!

The HATE the democrats (especially TOM) have for President Bush and Republicans EXCEEDS their hope, concern and care for America and the well-being and safety of the American people and the liberation of the Iraqi people.

BINGO! This fits perfectly into everything we've seen happen today. The RATS are with France, Russia, Germany, The Pope et. al. I think they've been working with them all along -- to box Bush in. That's why France is hardening their position, they have the votes to defeat a resolution authorizing an attack and they believe that the Democrats can create such a furor internally (on the streets if Bush goes without U.N. support) that they can get Bush to back down.

The Democrats will institutionalize and formalize the internal opposition that has been gathering steam the longer Bush has waited.

France and the Democrats think that Bush has assumed all along that he would get U.N. cover and has not been prepared to go without it -- they think he's been bluffing, because his actions (acceding to delay after delay and last chance after last chance) has made it look like he was bluffing.

Now the RATS come out of their hole! Sure enough, with U.N. help they've got Bush into a box where it's bad for him however he goes. They are more than willing to make hell reign on the streets if we attack without U.N. backing in order to bring down the Administration.

Bush had better ditch the U.N. right now and attack -- change the equation quickly -- or he's dead meat, politically. The problem is, I don't think this was his plan at all, I'm not so sure he was prepared to go without U.N. cover. We'll see.

Hey South Dakotans - why don't you recall the two twit senators you foisted off on us and redeem yourselves? I'm not kidding - can a ride on the federal dollar gravy train be worth all the shame you bring upon yourselves?

Elected in South Dakota, voting with the East Coast thought police - what a farce of representative democracy.
