I think his sense of right and wrong is grounded in his faith. And he gladly assumes the mantle of responsibility. He was elected to perform a service for the American people. And, he will make sure that he does everything in his power to further peace and democracy throughout the world. I firmly believe that he is truly horrified by the humanitarian crisis in Zimbabwe. His actions are lead by his belief in freedom.

Finally something from the president with which I agree.

Indeed, indeed. Rare as it is, I, too, agree with the president on these sanctions. But, they're not enough in my opinion.

My sentiments exactly. Bobby Mugabe is a genocidal, lawless, tyrannical maniac.

Don't forget that the thug is also a first-class, vicious racist.

Oh, no. You cannot frame the situation in Zimbabwe in a racial context. The American press would then rationalize it, saying that Mugabe and his cronies are only getting theirs back, after the oppression of the white people before Mugabe's reign of terror descended. Too many people are too shallow to understand the politics in Zimbabwe, and can only understand racial tensions. Our press is silent on Zimbabwe, and actually, that might be better, for the time being. Let the President do any heavy lifting that he can, before the media picks up on it.

I've gained a new respect for our commander in chief ...thanks to God we have him....few have measured up in my mind i compare him to J.F.K. the last true testament to integrity in my mind. My Prayers are with our leader, our nation and our soldiers and ourselves.

This also signals to Mandela, that we're not going to be taking any schitt from dictators in Africa...S.A. is next!!

Good catch - I forgot about Mandela. This will have to provoke him into spewing another hysterical, incoherent rant against Goerge Bush

If Bush wanted to humiliate the French, he'd break their imperial pretentions in Africa; that means, taking out Mugabe, who is obviously a friend of Chirac now, and helping our Christian bretheren in Cote d'Ivore. After all, they asked for help against Chirac from Bush. ;)

I would be all for Bush and Blair sending about 5,000 - 10,000 troops to Ivory Coast, with enough armor and air support to make any Frog-smooching jihadist or his French Legionaire handler think really hard about trying anything stupid. Seeing the expression on Chirac's face when he realized that we weren't going to allow his Islamofascist pets to rape yet another nation would be well worth the price of the deployment.

As for the French - they've been the butt of our jokes for a very long time. Everyone knows they're treacherous and unreliable.

Everyone, that is, except for our Democratic Party members, who are now demonstrating their "patriotism" by tripping all over themselves to plant their lips firmly on Chirac's posterior, simply to oppose President Bush.

It's going to be really nice to see Chirac take the UN and the corrupt socialists in Germany down the crapper with him - if he manages to drag our Democrats down with him, I might have to fly over to Paris and thank him personally.

The reason why it is so easy to forget South Africa, is the press never wants us to see failure on the African continent. The end to apartheid was supposed to usher in Utopia for S.A. Sadly, Africa languishes while the world ignores it. Bush's AIDS package and these sanctions against Mugabe are good steps in the right direction. What did Clinton ever do for Africa in his eight years in office?

I had to go to the London Bridge area today. Right outside the station is "The Battle of Britain Experience", in which you can, for a modest fee, go into an old Underground station and experience what it was like to have Dorniers dropping bombs on the city above you.

Wow. Thats huge.

I don't think that this President cares much about timing, or polls, or what the media says. I think that this President cares about the American people and their safety. I think that this President takes his oath of office very seriously and he intends to fullfil that oath no matter what it may cost him politically. This President will do the right thing, no matter the cost to himself. That, my friends, is the sure mark of a leader and a statesman.

God bless George W. Bush and God bless the United States of America.

<< ..... the ... media will paint this as American aggression abroad. To them, any attempt to rescue oppressed innocents is barbaric. >>

What is barbaric in this action -- and in every similar action -- is that one-more-time a well-intentioned enabler [President Bush] has used other people's [American Taxpayers!] money and has intervened to deny a tyrant and his subjects the dignity of the consequences of the tyrant's actions.

It is NOT "good" to feed Rhodesia's starving while allowing the zimbabweans' choice of leader to skip off to France for pansies'-labels-on-the-outside shopping, chateaubriand and Veuve Cliquot.

Either rid them of their once-great-British-colonial-bastardry-created oppressor by invading and killing the oppressor -- or leave them to the fate they, by their moronic choices, brought upon themselves.

There is only one way to the "teach a man to fish" permenant solution.

CONSEQUENCES!
