Do you think this will hinder Michael Ndlovu Matongo, the son of Phiri Matongo, a farmer from Zimbabwe who wants to transfer 8.5 million dollars from a South American bank into my bank account?

(Chirac greets the tyrants of various African "nations," including Zimbabwe's murderous Robert Mugabe)

Finally the Bush administration has done something concrete to discipline Mugabe and his ilk.
Great job!

US President George W Bush has slapped sanctions aimed at the assets of Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe and 76 other government officials for undermining democracy there, the White House said today.

YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! Looks like Kofi Annan's smooching buddy is finally being recognized for the thug he is ...

like I said before, Yasser Arafat and Robert Mugabe ... two of a kind ...

But with this action, it's a statement that communist thugs who love to get their tuckus kissed by the Eurotrash will be punished.

Yeah, but Bush is lining up here with all of Europe. Except when Chirac granted an exception to Mugabe's travel ban in Europe last month and let him attend an African conference in Paris. There were some very nasty protests and articles in the Euro-press.

Chirac wanted to "confront" the dictator. So he only shook his hand instead of bussing both his cheeks in the required French diplomatic style. Oh, what humiliation for the strutting African dictator. His wife felt so badly, she ran off and bought half the stock of the exclusive shops of Paris. In her recent shopping binges, they actually had to lease an extra jet to fly her loot home. And that Mugabe woman likes shoes even more than Imelda Marcos.

So for once, the Euro-Left should like what Bush did. They're still mad at Chirac over it. Conceivably, it could cost him the Nobel peace prize. Everyone condemned him. New Europe was especially appalled.

Bravo!
The timing could be poor, though.

It's tough to adjust to a President doing the right, rather than the expecient thing, isn't it? :>)

No need to burden President Bush with that; the American citizens have imposed their own, rather effective, economic sanctions on Chirac and his zoo-mates. ;-)

"Bout time."

My sentiments exactly. Bobby Mugabe is a genocidal, lawless, tyrannical maniac.

New Europe consists of our allies. Old Europe consists of the nations we liberated, protected and wasted billions on for decades. Payback is a bitch.

Fool! I've got several hundred Nigerians who want to transfer--each of them, mind you--about fifty million dollars ($50,000,000) into my bank account! The wonders of email!

Let's hope 50 years from now 'new' Europe won't forget what it's like to live without freedom.

ABout 12 years too late...but, way to go W!!! This is great news for all the people living in Southern Africa. Especially South Africa. This also signals to Mandela, that we're not going to be taking any schitt from dictators in Africa...S.A. is next!!
