Left-Wing Democrat U.S. Senators Thwarting The Will Of 'We The People'
Toogood Reports ^ | Marcj 10, 2003 | Wallace Honley

An Open Letter To The Filibustering U.S. Senators

Your denying a voice to the majority of the people by resorting to a filibuster flies in the face of the will of "We, the People."

Out of curiosity, I did a simple search on the search-engine, "Google." I simply typed, "Senate," followed by a plus sign, then the words, Constitutional Role. The results were enlightening. You should try it.

I was confronted by a picture of the great seal of the United States Senate and the heading, "Constitutional Role." The very first sentence, I find striking:

"The Senate was designed to protect against the passions of the moment by exercising thorough deliberation over the wishes of the majority of the people."

This short, informative page, later states:

… the tools of unlimited debate and unrestricted Amendment are deliberate — to allow individual Senators to force the Senate to act as a court of appeals for majority opinion."

I submit that by resorting to filibuster, you are effectively throttling that aforementioned majority. By denying a Presidential Appointee an up or down vote before the entire Senate, whether these results are achieved in Committee or on the Senate floor, is to thwart the will of the majority.

No temporary gains you achieve by resorting to these deceptive tactics can ever be worth the damage you do to our representative form of government.

More and more we are threatened by your schemes whereby the minority dictates to the majority. I call upon you to act as champions of "We, the People," rather than attempting to stifle our hard-earned voice!

Let me close with these words attributed to Edward Everett Hale, a Senate Chaplain:

"Do you pray for the Senators, Dr. Hale?" someone asked the Chaplain. "No, I look at the Senators and I pray for the country."

Don´t we all?

The Senate has the job of "advise and consent".

The Dems are afraid of the Constitution!

They have exceeded their job by law.

They are a mob, not the minority party!

I actually find myself hoping that a few Demoncrat senators would die, yes just drop dead, hopefully from states with Republican governors.
