Removing Saddam Hussein from power and eliminating his weapons of mass destruction is an important step in ensuring the safety and security of Americans and of freedom loving people everywhere. Doing this will also liberate Iraq from Saddam’s murderous regime.

According to a recent CBS News poll, 69% of Americans support the use of military action to remove Saddam. However, President Bush has been impeded in accomplishing this by the actions of a small number of activists who have used a sympathetic media to project an image of widespread opposition. Although some participants are sincere if misguided pacifists, their demonstrations have been organized and funded by international leftist groups who are militant in their hatred of America, free-market capitalism and the conservative values on which our country was founded. Their goal is to undermine the authority and effectiveness of the President and his Administration.

Their actions have weakened the resolve of our country, distracted members of our military as they prepare for war, and encouraged a vicious enemy dictator to believe that Americans lack the courage to end his evil schemes.

We need to demonstrate to our fellow citizens, our soldiers, our nation and the world that:

1) we support our troops,
2) we stand in opposition to terrorism and terrorists, and
3) we endorse swift military action in Iraq and the liberation of the Iraqi people.

Over the years, Free Republic has grown into a major force for conservatism and positive change. We have organized and participated in thousands of rallies across this country. Now it is time to join forces with other conservative organizations, combining our efforts to stage a major national event that will make our voices heard not only in America, but around the world. The Free Republic Network has joined with Young Americans for Freedom as national sponsors for this event, in addition to several other large national conservative organizations who will be coming on board early next week. In addition, we expect participation as co-sponsors or endorsers from several hundred other conservative groups who will be contacted in the next few days.

This will be the first time Free Republic has networked with multiple national conservative partners on a national drive and we will be coordinating our efforts and media plan for maximum benefit and return. During the election crisis of 2000, FR organized and participated in demonstrations in over 200 cities. Let's show America and the world what Free Republic is about, and make it our goal to double that benchmark by committing ourselves to a Rally for America in 400 cities and towns!

Here's how you can help:

1. If you are a member of a Free Republic Chapter, help plan a rally for the weekend of March 22-23. If you are not in a Chapter, start one. It doesn't matter if there are 5 or 500 at your location. The country, the world, and most important, our troops will hear your voices. Once you've made your plans, post your rally information at www.freeper.org.

2. Tell your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers and ask them to attend. Call your local newspapers, TV and radio stations and ask them to promote the event. Ask your Church to support the event. Call local organizations like the VFW, AMvets, Kiwanis and Lions Club and ask them to inform their members. Post flyers around your area.

Complete information about the Rally for America, event locations, and how to organize a rally in your area, complete with tools, resources and communication assistance can be found at "Rally for America" central;

Thursday is fine Aunt B! You should still list your rally on the freeper.org site so that when people go there looking for a rally in your area, they will know when and where you are!

Wow! That's a great idea Race! I bet many AmLeg's would be okay with having the rally on their premises!

Bob J, hope it's OK, I posted the announcement of the Nationwide Rally plan at Glenn Beck's site with a URL back to this thread. Comwatch taught me to do this! A lot of people at that place are posting "help, I want to do a pro-America rally, who can help me?" kinda posts, so they're just crying out to work with us IMHO.

Doughty - I have a complaint...

Those are beautiful pictures, but they are so color intensive that printing 1,000 of them is out of the question... I don't know... Maybe my color inkjet can handle 5 of them, but what about the other 5,000 people I expect at my rally???

Redwing, you print it out onto 8x11 paper, you take it to a kinkos and they enlarge it to posterboard size, you paste it on a poster board.

And then you have a poster.

Then 5000 people see it on the evening news.

I suggest you convert to black and white or stick with the white backgrounds with large letters. I will be increasing the number of those letter only signs in the next couple of days. If you have other suggestions, let me have it!! ;)

Gail, please keep me informed about West Tennessee rallies. I know lots of good folks in West Tenn and just 'cross the river in Arkansas who'd like to rally for America. If I can help with the organization and stuff I will too.

Legion Chaplin told me he would see to it happening!

I was at a council of ALL the veterans groups tonight fo rth earea, and it was almost a waste of time, all had already had their meetings for the month, we almost had to wait 3 more weeks just to settle on a place to vote for us to have it.

I explained the 400 rallies across the country, and this old Marine from the Legion spoke up, and said, SURE, Let's do it!

This one will be bigger if approved, there are more members, and, since i announced it at a regional meeting, there are many more vets that heard about it early, instead of word of mouth.

"Seen at a DC Freep last weekend: a woman wearing a t-shirt that said, "We are all Palestinians."

She certainly doesn't speak for me. I am not a Paleastinian!

I didn't here him give any date. In fact he told the caller that she was "making him annouce something he wasn't ready to announce yet". He said something to the effect that there was so much support in Redondo Beach, that he was going to some other ones, and I think he said "to include Washington DC and others". No dates given.

Don't forget Lowell Shyette's "A Free Man's Mind". I bought his CD and it is really good on the CD. http://LowellsMusic.com

He sang at the Wash DC rally on March 1.
