I need some catchy slogans for the posters I am making to Support our troops. The 25 bratty high school students across the street were yelling "viva la France". I wanted to strangle them!!!!!! My brother had a great idea. Re-enact the draft and Shazzam! they'd all be gone!!

That's one I'm working up on the back of some recycled campaign yard signs left over from the last election (both our local Republican Candidates lost, but then this IS Maine...)

My version has a big "PEACE" lettered accross the top with a dove rising out of it. Just below that is a smaller "Via" and below "VICTORY" with a big red "V" - superimposed over the "-TO-" is a striking eagle, talons extended, about to nail a rattlesnake slithering accross the bottom margin.

Another is based on the "we gave peace a chance - we got 9/11" which I think I picked up here on FR, and a third is lettered:

Support Our Troops

I wish our printer was working; I'd stick one of those FR Eagle logos on it.

Most of the signs at this Rally have been magic-marker and scrap-paper affairs, and although creative most can hardly be read (if at all) from accross the street. I wish someone would come up with some of those spiffy full-color jobs we've seen at other Rallys.

I just got a set of Tempra paints from the grocery store and a spray can of clear matte laquer from the Hardware (don't you hate it when it rains on your rally and your signs run and dribble all over the place?), and will dig up one of my old signing quill brushes ("Artist" is one of the many things I used to be) and have a go at it.

Computer graphics are dandy, but some things just have to be done the old-fashioned way.
