My guess is Hussein get's very few shots off. From that point on his a-- is ours.

If we take a number of casualties and the French open their yaps, Bush can feel free to call me up. I may not be a spring chicken, but I can hit a chicken at several hundred yards.

My son is at Camp Pendleton. I just called my dad and he said today is "family day" at the base. Last chance to say good-bye before the troops head out. My son called me from Pendleton. He was enroute to Taco Bell for lunch with his buddies. We swapped info about where to find his W2 and POA so I can do his taxes for him.

We made a 910 mile drive from Pocatello to San Diego to visit with him last Friday and Saturday. He introduced his girl friend. Before we left, she was his fiancee. He had been holding onto the ring for 2 weeks prior to getting his mobilization order.

An analyst on MSNBC thought the timetable was that on Tuesday morning that Blair will address the House of Commons and that Bush will address the nation Tuesday night (so he doesn't step on Blair's air time). Both speeches will say that Hussein and the people close to Hussein are now in control of what happens next, and that the expectation is that a peaceful end won't happen (which tells people that war will come soon and gives us some degree of surprise). Then 2-3 days later, after the bombs start falling, Bush will address the nation again.

"I'm sure most of you are nervous," he said. "It's like a big test that you've been studying for, but you don't know what questions they'll ask. You think you're ready for it but you just don't know. "You're ready. You will do fine,. . . "

I would follow this man into battle, or into the Bar Exam. These are trustworthy words, IMHO. But maybe it doesn't take much to inspire me.

PEOPLE LIKE COL. JONES ARE THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR ME BEING ALLOWED TO GROW UP IN THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. AN INTELLIGENT, INSIGHTFUL, AND DEDICATED MILITARY COMMANDER.

I WELL REMEMBER MY CO'S SPEECH BEFORE WE LANDED IN VIETNAM. BOTH CAME FROM THE SAME CUT OF CLOTH.

I BECOME DEPRESSED WHEN I SEE THE INROADS THAT THE ANTI-AMERICAN LEFT HAS MADE INTO THE BASIC AMERICAN INSTITUTIONS THAT MADE THIS COUNTRY GREAT, AND AFRAID THAT IT MAY TAKE A SECOND CIVIL WAR TO PRESERVE IT FOR MY CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN.

THNKS COL. JONES. AS LONG AS I HAVE A HOME YOU SHALL ALSO.

"It's a very short flight from Iraq to here," Jones said. "If it happens, we'll sound the alarm and dive into the bunkers. And when we come out, we'll smite this guy with a fury he has never seen before."

You gotta wonder about the briefcase that the military guy totes around with the President.

I hope the Big Red Button is marked "SMITE."

Well, he's no Patton.

General George S. Patton, Jr., in characteristic unexpurgated detail, gives his troops a final pep-talk prior to the invasion of Normandy, Enniskillen Manor Grounds, England, May 17, 1944.

We want to get this thing over and get the hell out of here, and get at those purple-pissin' Japs!!! The shortest road home is through Berlin and Tokyo! We'll win this war, but we'll win it only by showing the enemy we have more guts than they have or ever will have! There's one great thing you men can say when it's all over and you're home once more. You can thank God that twenty years from now, when you're sitting around the fireside with your grandson on your knee and he asks you what you did in the war, you won't have to shift him to the other knee, cough, and say, "I shoveled shit in Louisiana."

People let's not forget to pray for everyone of our brave servicemen and women over there.

They are putting their lives on the line in the pursuit of freedom from tyranny.
