MEMO TO THOSE DEEPLY SADDENED:

1. No one is limiting Ms. Sarandon's ability to bring her views to the public. The UW just has figured out a political debate is not appropriate at a charity dinner.

2. Contrary to her view of herself, Ms. Sarandon is not the only person in the world who is able to help raise funds for charity. The chillen will not die or be fed dog food if Ms. Sarandon's speech is cancelled.

Good job, Ronnie.

Why did AP think this rated a lengthy article and not simply a tiny blurb in the TV section? Hmm.

Okay. But they still have a high overhead.
I say give to smaller, more local charities. In my state, you can check with the Attorney General and get information that will help you guage their effectiveness in getting the money out to where it is needed.
But I won't have anything to do with United Way.

"Hey, Jim, do you know why United Way of Tampa Bay had to cancel Susan Sarandon's appearance at a fund-raising event?"
"No, Bones, why did they?"

"They couldn't find enough bear manure to keep the flie off her!"
Bada Bing!

Want a break from war news? Go to Stark Trek for a laugh or two. Then come back refreshed and loaded for bear whether he goes in the woods or not!

They should replace her with her mom who is a real staunch conservative Republican something that is a considerable source of embarrassment to Suzy

"If you'd clicked on the "Supporting Children and Youth" link I carefully HTML'd into this thread, you'd see the following:
Youth Development Services

Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Tampa Bay 813-287-2210
Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Pinellas County 727-518-8860
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast 727-546-1032
Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay 813-875-5771
Boy Scouts of America, Gulf Ridge Council 813-872-2691 M
Boys Scouts of America, West Central FL Council 727-391-3800 "

That wasn't what I meant about the Boy Scouts. It is no secret what agenda the United Way has been trying to force upon the Boy Scouts over the last few years.
