Truck Crashes Into UK Embassy in
Iran, Cause Unclear

TEHRAN (Reuters) - A pick-up truck smashed into the
wall of the British embassy compound in Iran on
Monday, three days after the embassy was besieged by
a crowd of anti-war protesters, a British diplomat said.

The cause of the incident, in which the driver died, was
unclear, the diplomat told Reuters.

Iran's student news agency ISNA said the vehicle hit the
compound wall close to the embassy's main gates at
around 10:15 p.m. and burst into flames.

There were no casualties among embassy staff, many
of whom live within the compound in central Tehran.

"I doubt that this was a deliberate attack," government
spokesman Abdollah Ramazanzadeh told Reuters.

I don't think we'll ever see a lot of suicide bombers in the West. It requires a large population of available bombers, such as you might find in refugee camps or Middle-Eastern slums. There just isn't a large pool of those people here in the West. There isn't much bang for the buck in most suicide-bombing, relatively speaking, and they need to be replenished constantly to have a major impact on a society. .
