I'll get on the phone right now to Keanu Reeves.

Do they want a check, money order or cash.

Pretty cheap at the price if it's not completely falling apart.

Of course, there's maintenance costs, crew, upgrades of electronics and other equipment, fuel, docking, etc....but still.

If nothing else, you could use it for ASW or amphibious assult support work. Or as a training ship.

Sounds like it's been used for both already...

FRS VIKING KITTY

The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!
On we sweep with threshing oar, Our only goal will be the western shore.

Imagine... with this one purchase you own a Navy more widely feared than that of France.

Certainly. Many of the ships and guns used in the Revolutionary war were privately owned

Yes. So I wonder, what would the rules be today on something like a private naval force? Primarily aiming at hiring itself out to Uncle Sam?

, but do you think that if I had the money, the Second Amendment should protect my right to buy and arm this ship?

Well, ya can't do much altering or abolishing with popguns...

Count me in!

It's British ... it's bound to have an oil leak and electrical fire problems. ;o)

Yeah. In addition to the gas bill, we'd have to rip out all the Lucas Electronics junk and refit it with Texas Instruments...

Actually, I would fear that of France too, although in another way. On the "De Gaulle", I would fear the deck rusting through under my feet :)).

I have no idea how much it costs to run an Aircraft Carrier, but I do know that the USS Enterprise has a crew of about 5,000.

A good question. Since Letters of Marque and Reprisal are mentioned in the Constitution, we can assume that the Framers accepted the idea of private citizens owning warships. It would have been silly to give Congress the power to grant these if no one was capable of using them...

I'll have to forward this to Rush later. I'm sure 4.5 mill is peanuts to him. The EIB Navy.

Hmmm. Wonder if this baby could be moored offshore so its broadcasts would be out of the regulatory grasp of the FCC.

No 50,000 watt power limit....
