The son of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan has been arraigned on drunken driving charges. Forty-four-year-old Joshua Nasir Farrakhan of Chicago allegedly fled the scene of an accident on the Indiana Toll Road last month.
He could face up to four years in prison if convicted.
Farrakhan did not enter a plea during a court hearing yesterday. Porter Superior Court Judge Julia Jent scheduled a plea hearing for August 12.
State police say Farrakhan was driving east on the Indiana Toll Road in LaPorte County about 50 miles east of Chicago on May 10th when his 1997 Hummer struck the rear of a car driven by 73-year-old Charles Peterson of Gary. Peterson's wife was slightly injured. The couple later filed suit against Farrakhan.

He was arrested in la porte county indiana, not chicago. His daddy does have a house here in the area and might have some contacts, but we are all keeping an eye on this one.

He should not be punished for this. If Louie, Louie was your daddy, you would drink (heavily,) too.

But I thought MUSLIMS were supposed to avoid alcohol!
The Koran forbids drinking!
*gasp*
He wouldn't happen to be a, zounds, hypocrite?

Farrakhan announced today that this was a set up by "the man". He noted that
"drunk driving" has the
same number of letters as
"Rush Limbaugh".
(Just kidding.)
