"Actually, there were lots of fatal horse accidents."

I'll take a taxi. ;^)

I wonder if the woman you spoke with said she CRIED all the time.........from the article, crying seems to be the only thing that Ms. Chante believes is required of HER to get action!

If it wasn't murder, it was of such extreme stupidity that the death penalty is justified to keep this woman from having children.

I think at least one poster should admit that none of us knows for sure if we would care more for this other person than our own short-term welfare if we were the driver in this story.

Seriously folks. I mean S E R I O U S L Y.

.

That being said, she should get a long sentence.

Was it murder? Ah, yes.

And most foul.

Maybe it's like the sadist who gets a job in the emergency room so they can witness the suffering.

Some nursing specialties pay over $100,000. It's a field open girls from the wrong side of the tracks. It usually has nothing to do with an interest in caring for the sick.

What is a life sentence in TX now? Seems it was changed not too long ago to require something like 40 yrs served before being elgible for parole consideration.

I don't see how someone with such a callous disregard for human life and suffering can be in the health care field. Maybe it's like the sadist who gets a job in the emergency room so they can witness the suffering.

Ut...well...she went out to the car in the garage several times and said she was sorry!
So distraught she even had to go to bed--with the boyfriend--for some, uhhhh, distraction.
poor thang...

Sometimes I wish we still had public executions.

I know I don't want to go to jail for murder vs. "just" hitting some homelss man.</>

Of course there are horse-related accidents, though usually to the rider.

Historical accidents include Pierre Curie being run over by a wagon, Barbarossa falling from his horse (though it was drowning in the river under weight of his armor that killed him), there was one prominent English politician who was killed when thrown from his horse during the early 19th cent., Cole Porter, Christopher Reeves, Theodore Roosevelt more than once--the list really gets quite long (Horse related sports are sports of kings because only the very wealthy can afford to be laid-up with broken bones often and for some time).

All in all, I didn't say one is immune from accident by riding a horse--only that if you're drunk, you'd be safer letting ol' dobbin take you home than taking yourself home in a car.

This surpasses callousness. The act itself is heinous, but getting others to get rid of her problem...the body....and the coverup...burning the seat and lying and crying afterwards just compounds everything else. I hope she cries behind bars for the rest of her self-centered life.

I spoke with a woman who shared a cell for a short time with Ms. Mallard and she said Chante is a sociopath who feels she has not done anything wrong.

Well, she'll be locked up for a long time in Texas prison after this trial is over. She'll have plenty of time to get treatment - at the expense of Texas taxpayers, of course.

All she has to do is get OJ's attorney's.

If the airbag doesn't fit, then you must acquit!

Momentary panic is one thing, and allowances can be made for it.

But in this case, she watched the guy dying--for 2 days--in her garage.

That is far from initial panic...

Keep us updated. This case should get as much national attention as the Scott-Laci Peterson case...but I doubt it will.

Will do. I'll add you to the Chante Mallard Murder Trial ping list.

I heard that FOX News is NOT covering this. Can you believe that ? Guess they're too busy with the Peterson case, as you say.
