A frightening new report claims America is "dangerously unprepared" to cope with another terror attack like 9/11. The report by the Council on Foreign Relations contends the United States needs to spend another $98 billion to brace for an attack - a figure that the federal Department of Homeland Security insisted was "grossly inflated."

All the money in the world isn't going to make us safe as long as we keep clinging to political correctness.

"I believe in the next five years - can't tell you when, where, what or how - there will be an attack," former Sen. Warren Rudman (R-N.H.), who chaired the panel that produced the report, told NBC's "Meet the Press."
DUH.
That great Warren is really "in the know."

I truly don't think ti would take $98 billion dollars to close the borders and start deporting illegals. But, then I never was too good at math!

There seem to be two camps emerging; one camp wants to keep America safer from attack the other camp wants to be sure we are spending the requisite amount of money on body bags.

All the money in the world isn't going to make us safe as long as we keep clinging to political correctness. Agreed. If the federal government focused on its PRIMARY Constitutional task, protecting the citizenry, NOT on welfare entitlements, income redistribution and political correctness, this tragedy WOULD have been avoided.

I'd like to hear exactly what would keep us safe.
Short answer: Nothing. Defensive preparations are somewhat worthwhile, but we're doing the best thing we can. Intelligence and offensive action against terrorists.

Could you be more specific?
You are going to die one day. It's a fact. No amount of gov't spending will change that.

We need to make sure the Arab world knows what will happen if we experience another 9/11 on our soil: Mecca and Medina will cease to exist and we will take over Saudi Arabia,Lebanon, Egypt and Syria.
This has to stop. We can't keep living like this. The terrorists have already changed our lives,i.e., like what we have to endure just to get on an airplane, etc.
Their host governments need to understand we will come down hard on them if they don't get it under control.
Somehow, I don't think the State Dept. agrees with me. What concerns me is that I wonder If my President agrees with the State Dept.

Could you be more specific? The RATS will say that we are not funding the first responders (people who use body bags) sufficiently because this is money to cities (their constituents). This money however always seems to be used for social programs rather than something that could avert or reduce the severity of an event. IMHO: NYC's response to the events of 9/11 were as good as you could expect.
The other camp is for hiring more Federal investigators, strengthening laws, tightening the borders and other preemptive measures.
I vote for preemptive pursuits.

As to taking over their countries............not worth it.
A blockade yes, an embargo of their products, yes, sales of American goods to third world hell holes, NO.
