"And there was much rejoicing......"

"...in Hell."

Absolutely NO doubt about that.

As I said in another post, two of my sisters became Roman Catholics in recent years and they had to go through RCIA for a year before they were accepted. They had no baptismal certificates, having been raised Baptists, although each had been baptised as a child. They were told that since the Catholic Church is now in Evangelical mode, the church would accept this as "conditional baptism".
I know several people who went to Nashotah House and also several who used to be Episcopalians who are now Orthodox, and if I had my choice, that's probably what I'd do as well. But I doubt if there is even an Orthodx church of any kind in Montana, where I now live. I don't really feel like going through the RCIA program either though.

So much seriousness about the infantile fantasy of a king up in the clouds to talk to when we're down.

Ooops! I think you're on the wrong thread. This is a thread for those concerned about the recent consecration of a gay bishop in the Episcopal church. Atheist threads are further down the page.

In your tiny mind, people like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan and all others who had/have a firm faith in God are infantile?

You just disqualified yourself from being taken seriously by anyone, you puny little worm.

Somehow, part of my post got cut off. Don't know how that happens. I will try again.

Well, I am without a church I can join and attend which is sad for me. I am not in a metropolitan area and so have no recourse to the groups that have been mentioned on this thread such as the Reformed Episcopal Church, the Anglican Use Liturgy. I wish to thank those who have put them on this thread because I will look for parishes in cities which I can travel to. Also thank you to the FReeper how posted the longer list of Anglican institutions. I have printed it out.

Why not just worship in your home with at least one other person?

Matt.18
[20] For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Thats what they want you to think. A 2.78% elite. What you don't see is the fact that the vast majority of homosexuals are not wealthy florists or professionals. Homosexuals have just followed Hitler's squeeky wheel politics. LITERALLY.

I still didn't get it all in, quite, but I'm not going to try a third time. I think the gist got through.

If they even consider a homo for ANY position of authority they've thrown out the Bible.

That's a bit drastic, ain't it?

If homos were such a huge deal to the Almighty, you might think Christ would have admonished them once or twice, eh? Instead we have a character who wrote some letters about his interpretation of Christ, and included a few of his pet peeves, including queers.

Also bolstering the Biblical case that gays represent Satan is the cherished Book of Leviticus, which also details God's preference in animal sacrifices and declares women impure during that special time of the month.

Now surely all these things represent God's will at one moment or another. No doubt there...I just wonder why so many fundies are up in arms about queers when Jesus didn't have a damn thing to say about them. On the other hand, he did say a rich man would have a tougher time getting into heaven than a camel through a tight spot.

I have a feeling the religious wingnuts take homos a lot more serious than that inconvenient passage.

I am an ELCA Lutheran as well. I have been leading a class presenting "the other side" of the homosexual issue using Dr. Strommen's video series. Our members are very concerned about where we are going, needless to say.

God bless you for leading that class! And God bless your congregation's members for refusing just to go along with the ELCA mis-leaders like sheep!!

I know about the attempt to delay the decision, and about the planned "Soulforce" stormtroop action at next week's convention to counteract that move. Either way, orthodox beleivers in the ELCA don't win! Even with a delay, the gay cabal will continue to eat away at the ELCA, leaving it in a weakened, and less than orthodox state. Only either takeover by the orthodox laity, or our leaving for orthodox church bodies, can help!

We need A LOT MORE than a Freep!! Orthodox believers in the ELCA need to get together as Christians and help each other deal with this bad situation.

I have on reliable authority that the next step, which has been in planning for a considerable time period, is an exodus of several diosces (sp?) from the Epicopal Church of America, taking the money and property (individual churches property, land and their capital accounts are property of the ruling dioscis which often covers a whole state or a large portion of a state). I live in Texas and expect the whole of the state's bishops will exit from the Episcopal Church of America. The next step will be direct affiliation through application to the Anglican Church in England, bypassing Bishop Grizwold and the sodomite bishop lovers of America, and TAKING THE MONEY before they do. It will play out over quite a bit of time and with much rancour, following which it will be very clear to all who remain in it that the Episcopal Church is a church for homosexuals. A lot of supporters of the gays will remain as will the property of many churches in the Episcopal Church. Yes, the sodomites hijacked a religion today.

I suppose you'd take my arguments more seriously if I based them on fallacious appeals to authority?

" Anglicans believe marriage is for mutual joy instead of procreation and the priests can marry. The Lord's prayer is recited slightly differently, but otherwise the liturgy is even the same. I know "

however, many years ago the Catholic Church revised their thinking to state that marriage ( and sex , naturally) were for procreation AND the mutual enjoyment of the couple....

and did you know that there are some men who are priests that were once married, and have grown children?..

In considering God the Father Son and Holy Spirit, what is said by one is considered said by the other. Jesus came to speak the truth, NOT change it.

No, you are obviously so much smarter than anyone who believes in God. Please enlighten us, O Wise One.
