GOP's King: Hillary's Attack on Bush Could Have Caused Riots
Newsmax.com ^ | 8-15-03 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 08/15/2003 2:07:55 PM PDT by Paul Atreides

Congressman Peter King, R-NY, fired back at Sen. Hillary Clinton today, saying that her repeated attacks on President Bush as New York City slipped into darkness during last night's blackout could have provoked civil unrest.

Rep. King called Sen. Clinton's attempts to blame Bush for the blackout during several appearances on radio and TV "absolutely disgraceful."

He then noted, "There could have been some incident last night, and then you attach that to what she's saying and you get out of control and, before you know it, you have cops fighting for their lives in this city."

Within two hours of the power outage, Sen. Clinton was publicly criticizing Bush for the power failure, telling reporters, "I don't think the federal administration under this president is really focused on making sure we don't have these problems in the future."

King noted that her comments during the early evening hours came at a very precipitous moment for the city.

"We didn't know what was going to happen," he told Hannity. "And all you need is someone who's supposedly a national leader, trying to sow the seeds of division - and you have the police out there trying to keep order in the streets - and you have an elected official basically trying to divide the country, I mean, it's irresponsible to do that.

The Long Island Republican accused the former first lady of "undermining the efforts of what people like [Police Commissioner] Ray Kelly and [Mayor] Mike Bloomberg were trying to do, and Gov. Pataki - and that was to keep everyone speaking as one."

"Even if she had been right," King continued, "that is not the time to send a divisive message. . . . It was terrible."

He is such a sleazy bugger; as typical a Clinton-lover as they come. I'm anxious to see Hannity tonight, maybe he'll have him on.

Well said, Congressman King.

I am very pleased he has said this as it was sickening and appalling to listen to this lying rhymes-with-rich last night.

I think you posted what was needed. I thought that upchuck was asking for an original thread on what was said by Hannity and King.

And she would have loved for that to happen

The most dangerous place to be is between Hillary Clinton and an exploitable opportunity, especially if there is human suffering involved.

"... and you have an elected official basically trying to divide the country, I mean, it's irresponsible to do that." Peter King (rino) It may finally be dawning on Peter that the demoncrat party is all about dividing this nation, even to civil war, in order to regain power! Wow! What it takes to get through to some Rinos! Hatellary Rodhamster is just being her hate-filled self, Peter.

It is never sickening to call this wench on her lying divisive ways and King made an excellent and accurate point. Thank goodness people like and respect President Bush, but her aim was what King states.

My only quibble is she wasn't trying to sow the seeds of division. She had those seeds planted and fertilized and I am glad Cong. King has called her on her garbage.

"Thank you Mr King all the news media does is kiss her big fat @$$."

Today's Daily News had a column saying that Ahnold could never happen here in New York - we don't worship appearance, we're deeper than that. Mrs. Clinton is proof to the contrary.

By the way, Hillary was in her downtown New York office when the black out hit. I want to know how she got her fatass out of the city.

Do we KNOW she was in her downtown office or did she just SAY she was in her downtown office?

She and her ilk have been scaring old people for decades, claiming that Republicans will throw them out in the streets. No Republican would get a pass for making a false exagerrated statement. The Dims are long overdue in having their cavalier statements questioned.
