I see you've just registered today.
Nowhere have I seen anyone on this thread wish either of those sweet innocent kids one speck of ill will. On the contrary, people have sent prayers out for them both and for their families, as do I.
I think it's time to tone down the rhetoric. You'll last longer that way.
Welcome to FR.
You need to back off too. Who cares when who registered.
Very sad situation. Prayers offered up for a safe recovery.
Please don't start that here.
Just saying 'welcome'.
But they have utilized a newstory about a murdered Mormon to propagate their ideas about religion. That seems highly inappropriate and insensitive to me.
I have at least 5-6 friends who are missionaries right now in Virginia.
Was only a matter of time until someone showed up to condemn Christian congregations for the classless remarks of a few individuals.
May they be okay, safe and sound.
He is saying that these people posting are not living up to what their own churches believe in.
You are right....I should take issue with the individuals and not the congregations...my bad.
I see this as two separate issues... One being the tragic and senseless murder of a boy. The other, was a discussion of different belief systems/religions.
Name calling is counter-productive IMO. If you fall on one side of the discussion, fine. Put your points on the table and others will discuss it, pro and con. Simple as that.
One thing that impressed me years ago is that some young
men enlist in the military as their mission. That's duty
to God and Country at the same time.
I don't know for sure yet if its someone I know or not.
I hope not and even if not that doesn't matter.
I understand that feeling.
My points on the table...
1- Posting religious propaganda on a post related to a murdered Mormon is
a-inappropriate
b- insensitive
c- unChristlike
2- see point 1
Discuss...
Simple as that.
Thank you for being understanding.
sorry about my "rhetoric" I just found this to be very insensative. And Beleive that the Lord Jesus the Most High would find it very insensative as well.
this is not the time or place for such childish banter.
Although I'm not a mormon, I have a special place for them in my heart for thier hours and hours of work on my grandma's house and neighbors homes after hurricane Andrew. Say what you want, but God has a place for them in heavan.
