“LOL! Hubby is Chinese. He knows what he speaks of. You are NOT Chinese.”

huh? There is simply no way to know the correct meaning or pronunciation of this name as it is written in this article.
You’re right, I’m not Chinese, but my spouse is and I speak Chinese.

is what right? That traditionally women in Asia don’t have a lot of earning power? That some parents give preference to boys?

My comment was directed at your generalization that women in China are unable to take care of their parents.

I’ve lived there for 3 years and have seen the treatment first hand. Some women are treated great. I’ve also seen a man beating his wife in the middle of the street while cops looked on keeping bystanders away.

I've seen the exact same thing here in the United States.

Or do you deny that girl babies are being killed by their parents?

I never made any comment one way or the other on that issue.

“May these people answer to our Lord for this.”

I think He is telling them a few things even now as the whole world watches. Instead of the Nile turning to blood, we have the sea turning to algae. We have earthquakes, pollution, the Gobi desert encroaching on Bejing, and an eclipse - just this year.

I see. So you have learned Mandarin and you're an expert? LOL! Believe it or not but a REAL Chinese person does know meanings and pronunciation. As an English apeaking person, by golly, I can do the same thing with ENGLISH!

So, live and learn ... and stop making a fool of yourself.

Never said anything about being an expert. One doesn't have to be Chinese to know the language; it's taught in schools all across the United States.

There are 4 different tones for each Chinese character depending on the meaning of that character. When the pronunciation of those words are spelled out in English with "pinyin" it's impossible to know the meaning of the word without the tonal marks. However, from your childish demeanor I can tell that it's a waste of time trying to help you understand this concept. You're the one making a fool of yourself.

Good day.

In general the economic choices for women in much of Asia are less than for men. So in general what I said is true. Of course there are exceptions.

“I’ve seen the exact same thing here in the United States.”

You’ve seen the police (in the US)standing by while a man beat his wife? I don’t believe you.

“I never made any comment one way or the other on that issue.”

Why not? Its a central part of the discussion.

Frankly, I don't care what you believe. I was a young boy and I wittnessed the incident first-hand. It was in a small town and the jerk beating his wife was a firefighter and the police officers were all friends of his that he grew up with.

Why not? Its a central part of the discussion.

I simply have no comment on the matter. It happens. I know it and you know it, but it's not something either of us can change. So what is there to say?
