Thanks for the recommended reading material. Sounds fascinating. I am particularly interested in the Basilica of St. John Lateran. No doubt there is much history around the site.
I think we are not communicating well.
The thrust of my post is that I put more emphasis on FAITH than dogma. I celebrate tradition and revere it. It is not however, in my view the religion I see with my eyes that keeps me near Jesus, it IS His unfailing unseen presence in my life that keeps me in my belief.
I am interested to know what you think is the difference between the trinity and triune in Aramaic, Greek and Latin? (See splitting hairs)
Are we making any ground?

Maybe. Let’s see what else you say (below):
“The thrust of my post is that I put more emphasis on FAITH than dogma.”
Can there can be a developed faith without dogma? You say you believe in teh Trinity. That’s a dogma. You say you worship the Trinity. Could you worship the Trinity before you knew what the Trinity was?
“I celebrate tradition and revere it. It is not however, in my view the religion I see with my eyes that keeps me near Jesus, it IS His unfailing unseen presence in my life that keeps me in my belief.”
And that we call religion. God’s place among men and man’s response to it is religion. And religion among men and handed down by God is tradition.
“I am interested to know what you think is the difference between the trinity and triune in Aramaic, Greek and Latin? (See splitting hairs)”
See reality. There is no “Trinity God”. There is only the Triune God or Trinity. The former expresses something which does not exist. The latter (Triune God or Trinity) is what is worshipped by Christians.
Words matter.
“Are we making any ground?”
I wasn’t losing any. Do you need to make some? :)
I know when to end dialogue with an ideologue. Just keep in mind that excessive legalism is what caused the mobs to crucify Jesus. The box is big, try to think inside and out of it. The answers are there. So long comrade.

Was Christ an ideologue? He said to look at a woman with lust was adultery. Gee, that sounds more legalistic than the Jews....but He’s God.
“Just keep in mind that excessive legalism is what caused the mobs to crucify Jesus.”
Wrong. Jesus was crucified by the ROMANS and not any mob. Next you’ll be claiming the Jews have horns and tails. Also, the leaders of the Jews didn’t want Christ crucified for legalistic reasons, but because He was a threat to their power and status.
“The box is big, try to think inside and out of it.”
The gate is narrow. Thinking correctly is more worthwhile.
“The answers are there. So long comrade.”
Jesus had the answer...and you’re running from it.
Typical.
Bless you.
I visited the berkeley plantation while on vacation and it was home of the 2nd thanksgiving as the Catholics in St. Augustine celebrated the first thanksgiving years before Jamestown and Berkeley....
Well said.
Yes, in a way, Catholicism “once removed” by Henry the VIII.
