Mary of Nazareth As The Bible Defines Her
The Ignorant Fishermen Blog ^ | 4/8/10 | DJP I.F.

Posted on 04/08/2010 2:47:10 PM PDT by The Ignorant Fisherman

This study seeks to present from God's Holy Word what the Bible teaches about Mary of Nazareth, the young Jewish virgin that bore the Messiah, the Savior of the World. In this study we will seek to look at EVERY Bible verse found in the Holy Scriptures that pertains to Mary of Nazareth. Be sure to check out all the links for this study, for they will provide a deeper perspective into the person of Mary.

Introduction

In beginning this study, the clarifying statement should be made that the Bible, God’s infallible (reliable) and immaculate (perfect) Word, is the FINAL AUTHORITY when it comes to ALL matters pertaining to the truth of Christianity, which includes Mary (2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:16).

The Lord Jesus Christ gave countless warnings to BEWARE false teachers and false teachings. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man DECEIVE YOU (Gospel of Saint Matthew 24:4).

Saint Paul also warned us to BEWARE of false teachings and fables. Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables (2 Timothy 4:2-4).

NO its not just first born because there are siblings only. The jews would use it even with one child. Because the first born were reserved for the priesthood. If you have one child he is the still the first born and only.

You are intellectually dishonest! Amazing! There are cultural and different meanings to a word or phrase! Suppose someone reads thousand of years later a letter written about hot dogs then believes we literally ate our pet dogs. Thats what your doing in a your own way. Maybe Getting it wrong. I’ll fight for your right of free speech but that does not mean your absolutely right to declare that you understand it better than me. But thats why we live in america for now anyway. Until thats taken. May God guide us. Soon we might argue this in the same jail cell. Take care.

Mary was a righteous woman.

Mary was a normal woman.

Righteous, normal women do not defraud their husbands.

Jesus was raised in a normal, righteous family. One where spouses did not cheat (defraud), or cheat on, one another.

Arguments to the contrary denigrate the goodness of God's created order, and undermine the doctrine of the Incarnation. The cult of the BVM has that flavor of the demonic around it, a spooky ethereal unearthliness. An unreal sickly sweetness. Satan lusts to be treated as deity, and will gladly don a mask to receive worship, appearing as the Angel Moroni, or the BVM.

One evidence of the demonic -- the ferocious intensity you'll find in the responses of those whose devotional faculties are tuned in to the goddess's wavelength. Suggest that Mary was a normal woman, a loving and faithful wife, and mother of other children -- and these folks react as though you'd called their mother a slut.

May God guide us.

Guide me? He never leaves nor forsakes me. I am blessed and highly favored. My footsteps are ordered of The Lord. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. The very hairs on my head are numbered by Him. He has plans for me, plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and a future. When I pray, He hears and answers me.

WOW! You’d think I’d just blasphemed the Virgin Mother. LOL Of course it’s a misapplication of scripture. I learned early in life how to make scripture fit whatever point I want it to make.

Geez...laptop theologians.

The “worship” of Mary is always set in the context of the worship of Christ. The Councils speak of Mary as “theotokos,” God-bearer” because Jesus has been first said to be true God and true man. Those moderns who reduce her role to virtual insignificance also treat the birth stories with lightness, as legend, and seldom are more respectful of His miracles or His Resurrection. As for the authority of Scripture, they say it is nothing but the imaginings of cultists.

God the Father provided Jesus Christ a body via Mary. God did not provide God through Mary, but He already existed. Mary did not have Divine essence.

Verbal Tradition is where we got the Bible! You’re missing a lot when you don’t read the history. Look up a guy called Helvidius [380 A.D.] The many weird ideas that haunt some Protestant churches have occurred in the past only to resurface recently. Luther, Calvin, Wesley certainly didn’t agree with y’all. Dan Brown does though...as do many of the earth goddess believers. Strange company you keep!

And when we study His Word, we know the Word did not depend upon Tradition in order for God to communicate to all believers.

The Vatican’s rubber history version of things is not the least bit impressive, to me.

Shoot, it didn’t even exist as such nor reign remotely supreme until what . . . 300+A.D.

What hubris.

INDEED.

However, the official position of the Vatican edifice is different as I’ve documented on a number of threads.

Our Lord Christ Jesus had no problem overturning and shouting at the moneychangers when they had changed the Father’s house into a den of thieves.

We have a different formulae. Through Mary, the Divine Word became incarnate.
She is a most holy human being who chose to have this happen. She is no more divine than the other saints, but she is first among them as mother of the savior —the first Christian.

WRONG.

That
IS
CONTRARY TO SCRIPTURE.

CHRIST HIMSELF NOTED QUITE FIRMLY AND CLEARLY that John the Baptist was THE GREATEST OF ALL MORTALS BORN OF WOMEN.

Or is there now a new Dogma that Mary was born of angels? ET's?

Or maybe that as an infant, she floated down from Heaven on a large white hankey?

It's hard to keep up with all the new Marian heresies propagating like . . . abundantly, from the Vatican edifice.
